Jerusalem | Silver Bible scrolls from Ketef Hinnom

Video tour with David Hyman, Israeli professional tour guide. In 1979 archaeologist Dr Gabriel Barkay hit the jackpot! While excavating First Temple perioud tombs (7th Century BCE) in the Ketef Hinnom necropolis in Jerusalem, his team revealed an untouched tomb. The ceiling of the tomb must have collapsed very soon after the burial, and sealed the tomb in a way that it appeared empty to all the looters who came later. After removing the floor they were shocked to find a tomb full of burial offerings and many bones of 95 people. But the biggest surprise was when they found two very small silver amulets rolled as scrolls. When openning the scrolls , experts managed to decipher the text. To everyones joy they learned that the text carved in the silver foil amulets are words from the book of Numbers chapter 6: The Priestly Blessing. This is the oldest Biblical text ever found in an arcaehological excavation , dating to about 700 BCE.

We have evidence than these tombs we also have the tunnels of Ezekiel mentioned in the Bible when king David existed. But his tombs looked like the tombs of Egypt which proves Egypt existed and their royal families in it.

The 4 letters signifying Gods personal name on this document, do not spell Lord or God (Adonai/Elohim) if you could read Hebrew, you could read it for yourself. Just like the letters to not read “Jesus” but Yeshua. It’s not about religion or agenda whatsoever. It’s about truth and accuracy. It is interesting that the Israelites of prior to the first temple destruction used the name as represented by the tetragrammaton for the one God they worshipped as shown by these scrolls. However, when the temple was destroyed certain Israelites tried to blame God for the destruction instead of their own unfaithfulness to the God with the personal name represented by the tetragrammaton. So, just prior to the common era or sometime after, the superstition was developed that mispronouncing the name of God is why the Jews were sent into exile. This, in effect, was an effort to blame God for their own bad actions. This guide follows the present erroneous view of the Jewish people today by not pronouncing the name as represented in the tetragrammaton. That name is rendered in each language by different letters as each other name in the Scriptures is. Some insist in one of the other, but as long as it is used in a respectful way, it does not matter the exact pronunciation? So, Yahweh, Jehovah and Yehovah can all be used correctly. Do we not believe that God Almighty can tell when He is being respected and when He is not, even if he person insists on using a title only? You don't even have to look closely to clearly see the name of God on both the scrolls. So not lord not God not any other than the tetragram Yahwe... The same that was originally written over 7000 in the Bible.

We shouldn’t be so strict with the name of God the Almighty One because nobody can tell you the right pronunciation of JHWH. The Hebrew writing system didn’t know vowels. They had to be included with speaking the language. The Israelites interrupted to use the name of God 300 years before Christ was born. So Jesus came to make known the name of his father, explained in his prayer in the letter of John 17:25,26: “Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to know you, but I know you, and these have come to know that you sent me. I have made your name known to them and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.” The Jews knew the name but they didn’t use it. Jesus made known God’s name not just by using it but by revealing the Person behind the name - his purposes, activities, and qualities. Jehovah is the mostly known name. He is composed with the vowels of adonaj=Lord. But in some regions the name Jahwe is also used. It’s not wrong. The main-point is that Jehovah’s will is that his followers should use his name with respect. And the scrolls reveal also that the translation of the Hebrew Scriptures in Greek words - called Septuagint - is incorrect when translating the Tetragrammaton JHWH as “Lord” and also incorrect is the Latin vulgate which is the base of the most catholic bibles, because the vulgate has as base for translation the Septuagint and not the Hebrew Scriptures like the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia. So the translators followed the wrong tradition of apostate Jews who claimed that the use of God’s name would be disrespectful. But the Talmud permitted to curse God with other words or substitute names without the consequences of death penalty. But the person who used the name of God should be put to death because he is a blasphemer. (B Sanhedrin 56a) . What a very good example of turning good in bad like Jehovah had prophesied. But the truth is coming to light.
