These Rusty Lake games are so gosh darn weird and SO good. I love watching Jesse and Dodger play them so this was extra super cool to watch them play together. The devs watching in their chat was cool to see too.
@argentoAFK472 жыл бұрын
I like how the game gets them so hooked that they go "does it do anything for you when I press this?" when there's no online game session being shared, all progression is based on triggers from codes/instructions your coop partner feeds you. The game does a good job early on of establishing the idea the other person is on the other side in the past/present doing things that affect you.
@BlinkyDrakkin2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! I played this with a friend, and we counted down to press the arrow at the same time for 10 seconds, and it wasn't until afterwards that I stopped and went, "Wait... we're not connected online... It literally doesn't know if we actually did that." That didn't stop us from forgetting that and syncing up the cube click at the end, though. XD

It would be nice to see more coxbonus, but the bee mode basically just changes up some of the patterns in the puzzles. What I would like is them trading places in past/future.

I played Past/Butterfly myself. Hoping I can play Future/Bee next time I find a person to play with. It was fun because there was just suddenly a butterfly fluttering around on my screen in the second half and I think I actually went “Ack! A butterfly! Wait! Come back!” Almost as funny as when the corrupted soul climbed the stovepipe and I tried describing it to the other person as “he’s climbing it like a monkey”.

Bee and butterfly doesn't actually change the game itself, it changes codes (like the XYZ123 codes) so that you can replay, but switch past and future, so even if you have a great memory and can remember all codes, you can play again.

Y'know, this is kinda like Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes, except no-one actually explodes. So I guess it's more like "Keep Talking And We Make Some Memories". I think having a connection to another person does help a bit with the creep factor. It’s hard to be freaked out when you’ve got the other person saying things like “he’s climbing the pipe like a monkey” or “alright. Yep. Just chopped his ear clean off. Really should’ve seen that coming.”
@phoenixwhittaker2 жыл бұрын
I love how Jesse and Dodger always over-complicate everything when playing puzzle games together, like the 3x3 grid instead of just saying numbers 1-9 they do positions and then dodger goes from left, middle to middle left in how she tells it, confusing Jesse, also Jesse always wondering if when reading 1-5 she really means that 2 is 1. I would just assume that my partner will always read top to bottom, left to right, so in the slider puzzle for example it's not 1st row, second from the bottom, middle row, etc. it's simply 4,2,1 or some such. Still love these goobers though and hope they did go for the bee playthrough on opposite time frames while trying to get all of the achievements, the extra bit of crazy for going all the way on Rusty Lake games is always a joy.
