Summary:
This is very nice quality and contains the complete performance without any significant flaws. I thoroughly enjoyed this, as he has a terrific band on board and does material from throughout his career, including songs from his years in The Youngbloods and a rare pre-Youngbloods song from his Greenwich Village folkie days in the early 1960s (Walking Off My Blues). He also does a sweet medley of Marvin Gaye's "Whats Going On" and "Mercy Mercy Me."

They opened for CSNY on the first night of the 74' tour here in Seattle. They were called back for TWO encores ! And I'd have to say that this song and Jim Rothermel's sax intro and solo brought down the house !

yep- JCY opened for CSNY at the Capitol Center in DC... later that night, Neil Young got into a huge fight onstage with Steve Stills and left the stage- never to return.

Jesse was such an incredible talent! I don't think he ever got the true recognition he deserved. I have loved his music for decades. I don't know where he is today, but I like to think of him up on his ridgetop, sitting on his front porch, smoking a big one. ♥️

Jesse loved his home....but it was destroyed by a fire. So sad. Love the song, and the driveway markers being pieces of granite and chert. Bushes that turn into pie in July. What great lyrics.....what happened to the people who write songs? Peace to you, Jesse.

Chert is a mineral common to Marin. chert CHert/Submit noun a hard, dark, opaque rock composed of silica (chalcedony) with an amorphous or microscopically fine-grained texture. It occurs as nodules (flint) or, less often, in massive beds. I exchanged a couple of emails with Jesse. His favorite college class was geology...he went to OSU. He used to have his phone number in the Marin County phone book.

Love this so much. Was thinking of the song after seeing JCY's post on FB: "The North Marin Water Department is planning to destroy the wildness of my little piece of paradise even though the Marin Planning Department thought this was a travesty. They are trying to ram through the building of a huge 150,000 gallon CEMENT water tank, 24 feet high and 30ft in diameter 5 FEET from my western property line where I used to watch the sunsets before the house burned to the ground in 1995 in a forest fire, sadly so familiar now. Picture that huge wall of cement across your favorite sunset view and you will know the heartbreak that I feel. If this also makes you angry, I am right there with you. The NMWD has appealed and is taking this to the next level to the Marin Board of Supervisors which is costly to us. However we will stand up for legally appropriate zoning on our wild ridgetop that the NMWD thinks they are exempt from.
