This song is very deep in my heart dating back to the first time I heard it. I am a 5th generation bay area native and the Marin headlands area and Tamalpias have some of the prettiest views in the world. Jesse was wise to invest in that spot which was a lot less populated then than now. 👋👱♀️🇺🇲

First heard "Ridgetop" back in the early 70's and put it on one of my playlists recently. I still love the lyrics and the "feeling for place and peace" the song evokes. For those new to JCL, three points worth noting: 1.) This is a re-working of original. Still quite lovely, but doesn't move me the way the original version does. 2.) It's great to see him performing again, as he lost the use of his vocal chords due to the effects of undiagnosed/misdiagnosed lyme disease for several years. 3.) It must be kind of bittersweet for him to perform this song given that his beloved Ridgetop home was destroyed in the Mount Vision fire in 1995, after which the family relocated to the Kona Coffee Belt of the Big Island of Hawaii, moving into a coffee farm that Young had purchased in 1987.

We're also on a ridgetop many miles from Vison Mtn and we could see it burn from here. Always have loved this song of his.

Marin County had the highest incidence of Lyme Disease on West Coast; 15% of ticks test positive for it. Same in Sonoma County. Nasty disease.

@@rossr6616 It's my favorite of his. Saw him perform in about 1970 or 71, I think. Ah, those college years when a concert ticket was ten bucks.

What happened to the music. This is not the flow of the tune. Just make it new reggie then Jessie. Feature great others and it just not even a good play.
