Everything except the leather/ Mad Max set is all reskins of older assets now with dual dyes. Thunderyard set is level 70 Tome gear, the others are the Troain dungeon set and the Ra'Tika dungeon set. Also Viera CAN wear the leather helmets and it looks hilarious.

What's extra funny is you get the leather daddy armor set at the 'emotional low' of the story so if you don't glam there is a near 100% chance you'll get to a sad scene and there's just your character in a full body gimp suit staring at you in the background...

Honestly my highlight so far has been the glam potential. They always re-use a bunch of sets, but since they've all gotten 2 dye channels it all feels fresh and new, like the amount of options we have now is crazy. Like even old pieces that have no dye channels at all will be usable since you can match the new pieces to them with both dye channels.

I mean to be fair a Realm Reborn starts with the entire being fucked by a moon crashing into the planet, which unleashed an apocalyptic dragon. The fact that FF14 is only *NOW* starting to look like Mad Max is odd.

I suppose the reason ARR Eorzea does not look like Mad Max is because the fall of Dalamud was five years ago, and that because aetheric disruptions look like crystalline structures or natural disasters. Only sucking all the aether out would make a place look like Mad Max, as The Burn demonstrates.

I love how they seemed to get weirder weapons right out of the gate this time instead of being conservative and wait patches onto patches to have the weirdo weapons. Right?! I wish I could have shared Jesse's enthusiasm with these, but when I went through the MB myself checking out the new offerings on Friday, I was just... so thoroughly disappointed that, once again, the majority of the offerings were recolors of sets that already exist elsewhere in the game, and then the leather daddy set which... maybe it's someone's aesthetic, but it's certainly not mine. Collecting new, appealing glamours is usually one of my endgame grinds, but none of these sets this time, then.

@@alibutterfly82 the MB didn't have all of the dungeon drops though, which some have been all new. First dungeon though is Paglothan gear or however its spelt. Lot of the stuff on the MB was the quest reward gear.

@@Swerg20 yeah, I've been trying to find the dungeon drop models too since I know they aren't on the MB. But as you said, there's a fair amount of recolors there too. I just miss when we got a bunch of new designs to chase for glams with each expansion, particularly when they have armor design contest winners through the years sitting right there, that they could pull from. "All" they'd have to do in that instance would be to translate the designs to the game, which... I know, sometimes easier said than done, but it's so much untapped creative potential for outfits that we COULD be getting instead of like 75-90% recolors every time. Salty.
