Absolutely the number #1 most overwhelming thing for beginners. Map knowledge. First time I played. The spawn point is huge, as a solo the amount of times if sniped a member of a large squad who got the spawn beside me and ran away knowing they will flank and take angles for a few minutes and as long as I keep moving its one less squad that I will run into as I cross map. I tend to head right to task or other side of map then loot so I'm not traveling heavy.

I wanna thank you seriously for making this kind of video. I've been playing for three wipes and I've never really seemed to understand the combat with other PMC's completely. However, this video really gives me a place to start working on making myself better at the game, rather than just telling myself to 'just get gud' over and over again after I die to something that could have been prevented.
@DJ_Treu Жыл бұрын
2:10-2:18 - I LITERALLY died 7/10 runs of shoreline, pulled up a map and used common sense to think where i would go if i was a PMC spawned at the points near me and have only died on spawn once on shore in my past 15 raids there. (Obv died a ton after getting out of the area and near resort but thats a different thing LOL)

Even with 2k hours not a single one i feel like. And i mean really knowing the map (every single pmc extract, scav extracts included, every elevation you can use, jumps you can do to get somewhere, good keys and where valuable loot can be found, what every single room is designed like). Maybe customs. Rest I still have so much to learn. I do have to say its my first wipe playing solo and in the 300ish raids iv done so far. I learned more (in depth knowledge) than all 4 wipes before combined. Lvl 38 now. SR only 45% tho.

To be fair, if you just watch your own recording back, you'll almost always know. That said, I wouldn't mind it, but I feel like it doesn't really suit the kind of game Tarkov wants to be.
@Magswap Жыл бұрын
@Eelke van der Brug I already know that type of system most likely won't be coming to the game, but I'm convinced that's exactly what Tarkov needs. So much potential for making content in various ways for a lot of people, and would help tremendously for new players. Yes most of the type you can see right when you died, but replay systems are nice to figure out how that player got to their position and when.
@H4FF Жыл бұрын
@MAGSWAP I can see how it would be cool for content and learning the game for sure. I suppose we just disagree on whether Tarkov "needs" it, and that's fine :)
@Magswap Жыл бұрын
@Eelke van der Brug okay I'll budge on it "needs" it...Tarkov needs a lot of other things. Replay system would be really nice to have for the tens of thousands of players that don't have 20+hrs a week to play video games.

Okay I got one that I've never asked ...can someone learn me please. Map spawns. Do you know based on where you spawned which spawns are likely to be used next to you? Sometimes spawns are pretty close to each other. Sometimes people spawn close to me other times it seems I'm alone. Is that just the way it is? Or do you know based on spawning at x spawn these other spawns are off and these ones are open? For instance, I know that if I spawn at scav house on woods there's like an 80% I get head eyes if I try to cross the road and b line for suppressor shack but I can't tell you that someone spawns over there every time I spawn at the scav house.
@brennanorr2 Жыл бұрын
Well theres 3 spawns at scav house so and there are limited amounts of players on each map if people arnt in the spawns its normally because there is a larger group and not as many solos so the spawns weren't used
@FordFalcon54 Жыл бұрын
@@brennanorr2 That's basically what I'm asking. Is it guaranteed to spawn and it's not. You just have an educated guess of where there could be players. I had a weekly of 15 woods extracts yesterday with like 5 hours left and 8 more to do. I really played around with the spawns and seeing if people always spawn. They don't. But I did kill a duo off spawn by scav house they spawned at the rocks across the road from scav house close to outskirts. It was fun they had no idea I came up behind them from outskirts. Popped some shots had them panicking slowly moved up. Killed the level 24 repositioned on his buddy so well that he pushed my old spot with his back to me from my new position. Felt pretty bad afterwards cause the kid was like a level 12 but it was awesome to apply this video's knowledge and get some kills fast off the start. I have like 5 KD so I'm not bad...I'm just a rat.
@An1mat0rz Жыл бұрын
I wish tarkov had some sort of small kill cam feature, or maybe some still shot of when the player killed you. Just after your death or some external menu like this would help a lot of players understand their positioning along with others far better... Like that dorms window clip, if you know for a fact they're upstairs and you die from the hall they could ask "how did they get there?" and look into it, or holding an angle in the open and getting sniped might make them think "I shouldn't stand there".

@H4FF Жыл бұрын
It doesn't have to be offline, to be fair. You will learn with any playtime you spend, on or offline. Watching content can help too, if you're watching streams or videos of full raids, you end up seeing a lot of the maps too. Don't be too afraid to be a little clueless, honestly. You're not failing by not knowing all the things that people with thousands of hours do. It's fine to be learning still, and as you improve, you will start catching more people off guard whilst getting caught less and less yourself. It's a natural process :)

I wish there was a way to have a game like Tarkov, which has randomly generated maps. If in real stuff, you would most likely not know the territory. Also then yeah, it comes down to combat knowledge and I guess like "hunting" stuff as opposed to just yeah map knowledge. The most disappointing thing about this game to me is that I learn the maps as it goes on, and that yeah makes it easier.
