book bingo idea- read a book that you watched the movie/show adaptation first

I did that with A Simple Plan by Scott Smith. I saw the movie first and then found the book. I think both are excellent.

And the same with Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro. Love both the movie and the book.

Book Bingo idea - Read a book that feels good in your hands. Am I the only one that thinks some books just feel really extra good to hold? Like it's the perfect size, floppiness, and the cover is just the right texture. ❤ I run the danger of wanting to just hold the book and flip through the pages without ever actually reading it. 😂

YAY!!! I am early!!!! I love book tags. I used to watch Jesse when I was younger then stopped watching his channel when life got busy. I have returned to his channel again earlier this year and have been rewatching all his videos. I love your channel, Jesse!!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!❤❤❤ Maybe next year, can you do a book recs video where you give us a book or two book recs per genre/sub genre?

Ohh I loved Happy Place! I was also a little surprised after I read it that so many people didn’t feel the same way as I did… I saw the new Ransom Riggs book in Barnes and Noble! It’s really cool looking! Hopefully it’s as good as Miss Peregrine’s, but like you said, it’s probably best to go into it with lower expectations… because that can really mess up your reading experience sometimes!

A book I'm rereading that has an autumnal feeling is A Constellation of Roses by Miranda Asebedo. My reading resolution for next year is to read books that I already own (Kindle, Audible, Chirp, etc.) Often I'll buy an audiobook or ebook and it will go unread. Before the end of the year/Christmas, I want to finish the holiday cozy mystery: Peppermint Barked by Leslie Budewitz. I also want to read Death by Bubble Tea which is sitting on my Libby shelf rn, just gotta devote the time.

I want to make sure I finish every "in progress" book as I love having a clean slate for January --- so right now that's Spellshop and Scarlet Throne. I also want to read Nightmare Before Kissmas because if not, I'll have to wait an entire year before I try again 😂 Can't wait to see your countdown for best book of the year! I know I have a bunch of contenders for top pick which tells me my reading year was successful

I am with you on Happy Place! I adored that book so much ❤ I'm not sure if this is a bingo spot maybe more a video idea, but what if you picked a book only based on a quote. I've seen reading.things on Instagram do this as a post. I think it would be a cool concept. Maybe you picked one from one of her posts, or have the community give quotes.

I read Cackle not long after it came out and I picked it up for much the same reason (she was a guest speaker at an online conference I attended during lockdown), so I read it around this time of year myself and I think it was pretty perfect vibes for it. :) It sort of defies expectations a bit. Also, you should definitely try out Beach Read by Emily Henry, since grief is sort of front and centre in the plot. It's my favourite of hers.

As a Canadian I find calling the end of the year Autumnal hilarious. I know winter technically starts Dec 21, but baby it’s been winter for a while already. I had no clue Emily Henry wrote anything other than contemporary romance. I hate 90% of romance, so maybe being able to enjoy her writing sounds nice, I feel left out on the hype around her lol
