Omg I’m so much excite that you’re starting Terry Pratchett! Just wanted to let you know that Terry himself said he wouldn’t recommend his first books for new readers as he wasn’t that good at first. If you read this and you’re on the fence, I’d recommend Wyrd Sisters for a glimpse of the lives of the witches of Lancre or Jingo for a view of the city of Ankh Morpork and its neighbouring cities. The Color of Magic is great! I've only read 14 of the Discworld books (there are like 40), but they are always a treat. I tend to pick them up when I need a laugh. I hope u love it! There is also a movie of TCoM made in 2008 that aired on TV as a miniseries. It's a fun movie.

Discworld!! Even if you don't love Colour of Magic I would highly recommend trying others from Pratchett because the series goes in so many amazing directions and you can jump in at so many places. Not everyone who loves later books likes Colour of Magic just based on the bit of different style... Also the writing grows and develops as the series progresses!!

I have no self control when I have money. It is an absolute MUST for me to buy at least $100 in books. I know I have a problem, but I dont care. I just found a paperback copy of Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken with the original cover at Barnes and Noble. I also picked up Furyborn, Neverworld Wake, Catwoman Soulstealer, and the second Omnibus of Cardcaptor Sakura. I pre-ordered Wildcard, Kingdom of Ash, and the collector edition of Throne of Glass. I now need to find a paperback copy of the other books in the Darkest Minds series with the original covers.

You should check out the original covers for the Terry Pratchett books. They have really awesome illustrations all over them! They're kind of like a visual blurb. Also there's an app in the Google Play Store (don't know if there is an ios equivalent) that gives the reading order for the Discworld books if you want to follow specific characters/themes. I love the character Death for example so I'm trying to follow his storyline. Mort is my favourite from the series so far :)

I'm all for Terry Pratchett but have in mind that the series is 41 books strong. Basically the first 2 books belong together but the other books can be read out of order. There are different "collections" that follow different groups of characters.

If you like dark and creepy books, then I suggest Bliss by Lauren Myracle and Haunting Violet (cant remember the author for this one). Both beautiful and haunting books! Plus they're dark and a lil creepy. Bliss is set in 1969 during the Charles Manson murders. It's one of my favorites for sure!

Did you read the Lockwood & Co series by Jonathan Stroud? It's also very dark. It's about a world where ghosts live amongst humans, if they touch a human, the human dies. So there are ghost hunters and it's super creapy, but really fun!!
