So glad this book lived up to the hype! And debuted at number 1!!! Yay for Alexandra Bracken! XD I think that's reason to go read it now, lol

About the earrings, they were important as well because past Alice saw them and when present Alice saw them as well she knew this was the Etta she met years ago. Rose knew everything that was going to happen so she knew giving her the earrings will "trigger" everything.

I loved Nicholas sooo much, and his relationship with Etta and the hardships he faces because of his race really pains me. The ship was my favorite destination as well because that's where the bonding started. I can't wait for Wayfarer!

Great video, Jesse!! I loved this book so much and I completely agree with you, I wish Etta had spent a bit more time on the ship. I'm so hoping that we get to see Captain Hall and the others "legal pirates" in the next book!

Although it took me around 3-4 chapters to get into the story, I did love this book. It took me completely by surprise. I’ve never read Alexandra Bracken before & if her previous books are as detailed & researched as this one I am so in! I’m really glad that A.B. wrote about racism & the way she wrote about it. I do feel I have to reread the book cause I did find the whole “time traveling” a bit too complex tho. Now the spoiler area! I agree so so soo much on wishing that Etta had spent more time on the ship! In the small amount of time she was there she had all of the men on the palm of her hand. Imagine if she’d stayed forever… Wishful thinking! & the earrings! I thought the exact same thing. Since she mentioned her mother never giving her something like that & Alice looking at them like something important was about to go down... which it did. So yeah… My favorite character was Nicholas, my favorite scenes were probably the ones where Etta was in the ship or those two (Angkoe 1685 & Damascus 1599) steamy scenes between her & Nicholas. All in all it’s my favorite book of 2016 so far. I didn’t do much of a review on my channel because my Feb. Wrap Up was pretty big by-itself, but the feels are too strong & I’ve had to refrain from a bigger comment! 😅

+Michelle Yang the darkest minds is one of the greatest trilogies ive ever read tbh. her writing is amazing. but tdm and passenger are so different from each other in terms of story and writing style but they are both equally amazing. it is definitely worth giving it a shot.

I just finished this today! I really enjoyed it, but one thing I felt was missing was a purpose - why could these families time travel? Was it just an ability? Were they chosen to keep history, or to just show off? I wish that was explained more! Otherwise I really enjoyed it!
