The commentary of Hume Cronyn was a pleasant surprise. I loved hearing him speak of his wife, Jessica Tandy. Thanks so much for this.

Thank you for this. I just wanted to hug Hume Cronyn when he was talking about losing Jessica Tandy. They seemed like good people who just happened to be fabulous, famous actors.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I was lucky enough to see them in the Gin Game and to see her in Glass Menagerie But perhaps the highlight of my theater-going life was watching her become Blanche on stage at Tennessee Williams' memorial service. Absolutely spellbinding

My father was waiting to check in late at night in a Toronto hotel. A gentleman was ahead of him. The room clerk asked the gentleman's name. He replied Hume Cronym. The clerk asked for the spelling of his name. The clerk had never heard of him. My dad knew very well who Hume Cronym was. Hume looked back at my dad and simply said "Fame".

I am amazed by the comments disrespecting Jessica Tandy, who was only chosen by Tennessee Williams and Elia Kazan to create the role of Blanche. I have just seen the entire scene from which this was taken, at the William Paley Center, and it shows just how fine she was - it should be put on youtube somehow.

Jessica was so attractive and projected a vulnerability despite her strength when she spoke. Hume was obviously crazy about her.

Thanks for uploading. It’s interesting seeing Tandy's interpretation in the role of Blanche in comparison to Leigh's. Perhaps it’s unfair to make comparisons because both those actresses have admirable qualities. However, I think I prefer Leigh's depiction because she brings a vulnerability and pathos that seems to be lacking in Tandy.

Remember she's playing opposite Cronyn, not Brando.

I have often wondered what Jessie was like as Blanche. Now we have an inkling.

Jessica Tandy seems to "acting" Blanche; while Vivien Leigh was "living" the role.

That’s why she stayed sane

You seem to forget Jessica was acting the role on stage and needed to project, and Vivien was on film.

Jessica Tandy looks and sounds like she's auditioning for the Grand Rapid's dinner theater production of Steel Magnolias 😂😂😂 She is JOKE in this role!
