The photographer has a defamation case for sure. They showed 5 out 100's. They took great photo's, and just a few so so ones. Presenting out of context, to show anyone in a bad light, with intent, is defamation. The client really needs to post a retraction, and show the best photos.

What gets me is the photo she found when looking through the gallery looks totally different when take into context of the rest of the nighttime pictures. It went from, "what am I even looking at?" to "Oh, wow that's so chic and artsy!" some people, I swear.

Yes the day time photos were properly exposed but nothing jaw droppingly gorgeous. The night shots were horrendous, no excuse for it. If you’re paying thousands the photographer better have the gear to get the best looking photos, not work with what you got photos. Making the excuse “oh she probably just had an on body flash”.

Some of those pics looked like test shots for lighting and stuff. Seeing those in a sea of thousands of lovely pics is not the least bit surprising. They really cherry-picked those, and I still liked some of them lol.

@@nartyteek strange that the photographer did not edit and cull the images from the reception. On images that are underexposed, if no HDR images were taken to be processed in maybe 3, 5, 7 exposures or simply do a single image HDR edit and then use masking to adjust further when needed areas that need more exposure and those like the text portion simply mask that and then invert to get a more balanced image. Using a completely freeware program such as PhotoScape X4 would do a fine job and it will do many other things too.

@@KaosInOrder so customers never see .jpg images from the camera? Secondly, a non - processed RAW image is not the way a final image is ever presented. Thirdly, either single image HDR or multiple image HDR is either created in the camera or in the image editor which can be either edited or not edited depending upon how the creator deems he desires to present the image to the client. Also, if the photographer would have exposed differently, the images presented to the client could have been much better which in the final analysis is why camera processed .jpg images are the best to be presented to clients for them to choose from as the images they wish to actually have for any final images for albums or other method client's may desire. The only decision that both the photographer and the client must decide upon is the number of final images to be created and charged for based upon the contract at the time of the booking of the wedding photography coverage. I am completely at a loss as to why the numbers of images offered to be taken and those that are available to chose from are so large but that seems to be the method of the last 20-25 years.

Right? I did like the concept. Maybe the customer wanted bright pastel colors? The company should’ve set the expectations for a low light, undiscussed shoot but that’s as much as you can blame them for. The awful part is as a photographer, you’re excited about your work and give the client as much as possible so they have more memories, then when a they pull BS like this you start limiting your album to 100-200 photos that you cherrypick and won’t be taken out of context. It’s sad your creativity gets killed because of scummy people.

Why would a professional photographer need a tip? I think it would be best to refuse one even if offered. Charge appropriately for the service being rendered and let that be that. Professionals are worth their wage, they aren't depending on tips like a waiter is.

When I come across videos like this I think, what a great way to embarrasse your new husband and give him second thoughts on who he married. I don't understand why so many women do stupid videos like this. And don't get me started on all those self recodings in their cars, complaining or crying over how bad they have it. They had that poor photographer following them from day until night photographing every minute detail. She gave them lovely traditional photos. She gave them artistic editorial worthy shots. She re-took the same shots with and without flash at their outdoor night time reception so they could have options. You know at that point the photographer had to be tired as all get out but her work doesn't reflect that at all. Nearly every image in the original tiktok had an alternate version that was clearer or had better lighting in the gallery. Then the photographer offers them a refund and raws on top of it all and they still cherry pick the worst version of the images to try to defame her. I love the theme too! I saw Alice and Wonderland but also Edgar Allen Poe and other creepy/whimsical references. It's surprising this couple chose something so creative when usually these kinds of fans can find the beauty in the ugly. And they went out of their way to find the ugly in their beautiful wedding photography. It does have a sense of karma that they tried to tear down someone else's creative vision and now they're having their own torn apart online though.

Honestly, it's a lesson and something I try to tell all photographers after I learned this the hard way... NEVER tell the couples how many photos you took, NEVER send the raw images that have NOT been edited, and NEVER give someone an inch because they will always try to take a mile and think they can walk all over you. Don't do any of those things! All this could be avoided if someone let the photographers know that, and they stick to the rules. It really sucks that as photographers we have to be this way, but this is why we have to be this way. Someone can easily try to damage you (or lie on you) for clout! Regardless of how great of a job you do, they will take the worst photos and try to highlight those photos just to go viral! this isn't a new thing.

The fact that this photographer had nothing to bounce the flash off of, the subjects weren’t blown out by an overpowered flash, and the black looks black… The number of options… I’m astounded that they’re complaining about a couple less than stellar ones. Obviously they have no clue. I hope this brings the photographers lots of work, because they deserves it all. If I was getting married, I’d hire them in an instant.

1. This is why I still haven't implemented associate photographers into my business. I'm so scared of a situation like this when I wasn't the one who actually taken the photos. 2. These situations (which happened to me in the past but THANK GOD it was before Tiktok) really has me on the edge of stopping my wedding photography business. I think also with younger couples posting this on Tiktok it's becoming much more common to do this. It's really unfortunate and I feel for any photographers who get wrongly called out like this.

At first, looking at the pics she posted I was like "yikes", BUT seeing the actual photos, they turned out INCREDIBLE! I think the main issue is that the photographer needs to cull the photos more. People tend to focus on the bad ones. Overall, these are very beautiful photos-they just need to remove a few bad ones and avoid giving the clients too many options.

Seeing that Tiktok vs the actual gallery is incredibly frustrating. They've selected a couple of not the best pictures to try and shame the photographer whilst leaving out the hundreds and hundreds of excellent ones. Shame on them, not every shot a photographer takes is going to be incredible but from the gallery the photographer took mostly incredible shots. If I were the photographer I'd be launching a defamation case as they've intentionally tried to sabotage her business by lying and making it seem like her work was awful when it wasn't at all.

This is why I am a birth photographer. No one asks me for more photos, or the raws. They trust me and are always grateful. But I have done a few weddings, often as favours for low-budget days. Clients with a super tight budget, that have styling from Temu, no aisle or clear spot for me to shoot at, weddings that have long, inaccessible tables with no space and nowhere for guests to move around and who refuse to have a list of the group photos they may want-are the ones who have me feel so undervalued. Complaining there aren't enough photos, even when well above what was contracted, demanding RAWs, printing from the low res downloads, then 'why is this person missing?'. This is such a beautiful gallery and I honestly feel as creatives we need to not pander to unfair expectations. Those photographers did a great job.

I think the bride didn’t understand physics or photography. She cherry picked the night ones and I think she may have expected magic because she sees night shots in magazines or film that look amazing/different (kind of like night time in LoZ BotW where somehow it’s night but the light is still perfect to see in) and didn’t realize or think about all the work to do that. If she was willing to pay >20k (just ballparking, I have not idea how much this would cost) to hire a full film/photography crew to bring the equipment and dictate the wedding to follow the light schedule and turn this from a wedding to a photo shoot she might have gotten something like is seen in magazines. But she wanted a wedding where she got to be in control and center stage so she isn’t going to get magazine quality night photos.

I've done parties with a similar theme. I don't remember a wedding with that theme but I also like a lot of it. I think they tried to cherry pic photos that they thought other people would agree were "bad" but I'm glad people saw through it. I've had to direct photographers as a coordinator/caterer. $8,000 is what I paid for my photographer at my wedding. He met up with us explained how things would work six months ahead of time. He brought a second photographer day off. We also had a photo booth. I loved my photos but let me tell you my end product did not go as hard as this photography company did for this brides wedding and it blows my mind she is unhappy. 😅

The 5 that were shown were absolutely horrible pictures- there will always be bad images in any event shoot. The obvious solution is that you don't share the rejects. The couple should never have seen those 5 images in the first place. Pros cull their images before releasing them for viewing.

I am not a photographer but I can easily understand how hard it can be to take photos in the night outside. I think they compared some of the photos with some taken by people using high end smartphones. And sometime, their AI magic can do surprisely good.

I have three theories: 1) the bride was unhappy with her wedding and is taking it out on the wedding photographers 2) She is lying and wants clout 3) She was hurt that the owner wasn’t her photographer and is taking it out on her. Also, more than one theory can be true. By the way, I think the theme was interesting, very “pink Alice in Wonderland”. And the photos were excellent. That bride is unreasonable.

They even edited way more photos than i would’ve. I take series of shots to be able to pick the best of each series. They took the time to edit multiple shots in each series, and they all look great! I feel sorry for this couple. If they can’t be thankful and appreciate all the great photos because of a handful of the posterity shots, they have a hard road of simply life to face.

Doesn’t every wedding photo gallery contain pictures that were taken, that aren’t “quality”, but they’re in line up. I call those toss always. It’s a shame that the couple is actually trying to hurt the photographers business.

I think the bride is probably a clout chaser and a bully. She was reaching for any excuse to go viral and get attention, so she settled on needlessly trying to make those photographers' lives worse because she thought they'd be an easy target. I'm so glad this backfired on her.
