Have you thought is tailoring the sleeves? I don’t know how well you sew,but it doesn’t look like it would be that difficult. If you got it for a great price you might even consider taking it to a tailor. Just a suggestion.

How much harder is this sweater than your “first sweater” project (I think it’s the Woodland but not sure I remember it correctly)? I want to dive into a simple sweater project but am scared of sleeve transition, and yet I like this look of the Mysa.

The Mysa Slipover will be simple for someone who has knit a few sweaters. As a first sweater project, it will be a bit more difficult. You say you are looking for something simple, and Woodsmoke is the simplest sweater pattern I have. After getting a sweater or two under your belt, Mysa will be a simple project for you.

Also, don’t be scared of the sleeve transition on a top down sweater. It really isn’t as hard as it seems. The How to Knit Your First Sweater video show the whole process in great detail. You can watch just that section of the video to see how it goes before you make the decision on which pattern to go with.

I just purchased a DK yarn 50/50 wool alpaca blend. Would that work for it? I bought the pattern, but haven’t looked at it yet.

you remind me of Anna from BlueBird Box Knits, wonder if you are sisters? Hope you feel better soon.
