I am a multi-passionate viewer! I prefer you tubers that are not super niched down. I don't want to watch 50 videos about the same thing. If I follow a you tuber - it is them, personally, that I like to watch. I am not necessarily searching on content or topic.

YAAAAAAZ! I am also multi-passionate. I'm into music+singing, email marketing, personal development, spirituality, running/fitness...... and so on. But I am not willing to niche-down because I don't want to focus on one thing. One thing I've learned about branding is some clients actually want to see what goes on in your personal life like what you're interested about beyond being a service provider or whatsoever. So thank you! :)

Absolutely! My queen Jenna Marbles (may her content rest in peace) would make videos I'd see the title for and I'd be like "eh that one looks dumb, maybe I'll skip it," but then eventually I'd run out of things that looked more immediately interesting and give it a look and... IT'D BE AMAZING! And that happened enough that eventually I stopped doing the "maybe not this one" dance! I'd joke about how "that woman could make a video taking a nap and I'd watch it" AND SHE DID AND I DID! Don't even regret it.

I need to keep in perspective that my channel's growth is going to be slower than other channels that have more focused content, but my slower growth isn't bad - it's going to make sure the people who continue coming back to my channel and watching my content are watching for ME! ❤️

Yep, I'm seeing this right now on my channel if I talk about Siri Shortcuts, I get more views than my Subscriber count, but if I talk about my other 3 pillars of content I'll be lucky if I get 50 views per video. It's like hitting the gas when I create a shortcut tutorial and hitting the break when I create any other kind of content when it comes to my channel growth. BUT... I would rather keep creating what I want and let the algorithm catch up to me and find my tribe slowly overtime vs every video being about Siri Shortcuts which I'm pretty sure I would get tired talking about at some point in the future when new content ideas become harder and harder to find. Awesome video, you nailed it.

New subscriber! I'm just getting started as a creative entrepreneur and know eventually I'll probably have a KZbin channel. I'm a multi-passionate creative with ADHD and more and this video really resonates with me. I know this will be my niche. Presenting content as myself with all the challenges and successes of trying to navigate a world that is not set up for people like us. I personally don't want a large following. I know it would be too exhausting and overwhelming to try to maintain engagement with everyone. 50-100 loyal viewers (my tribe, so to speak) who tune in to be with me as my authentic self sounds awesome to me. So excited to follow you on your journey! I know there are TONS of us looking to connect with each other. I'm confident your channel will be around for as long as you're interested in it. 🙋♀️💖

but do you have to niche down in the "interior design" space for example? like furniture flipping only, vs room makeovers only? or can you just be giving your spin on on interior design? like if one only does furniture flipping - i assume they would grow faster than someone who just focuses on their spin on interior design? like someone who does flipping, and thrifting, and room makeovers, and opinion pieces on trends, and decorating tips or hacks, etc.. ?

I think it’s definitely subjective - fast and slow is absolutely up to each of us. For example, I think the fact that it’s taken me almost 8 years to hit 200k subs on KZbin is SLOW but I see people who started before me still at 50-60k and they probably see my growth as fast, etc

Worrying about growth speed and being able to get to a point where my girlfriend doesn't HAVE to work a 50 hr/week job anymore if she chooses not to.

@@jessicastansberry I think it`s important to not mislead as there are way too many KZbinrs who "sell" the idea that there is some sort of formula where you can succeed on the platform literally overnight. There is no get-rich-quick method that works otherwise we`d all be wealthy.
