🤔Thank you. Will try all three. Frequent urination day and night had me feeling almost desperate! I had an irritable bladder for years and even got medication to help with it. But the medication had so many side effects I decided to find a more natural way to soothe my bladder. I discovered that 595mg of potassium gluconate, a couple of hours before bed, did the trick along with no caffeine after 3pm and no drink, except what is needed for my pills, after 6pm. I can now easily sleep for at least 6 hours, and a few times a week, I sleep 8 hours without having to get up to pee. I also have trained my bladder, as you suggest, so that it isn't always yelling about needing to go. I'm 78, and have a body that is a disaster area, but an irritable bladder is no longer one of my health issues.

I watched this video yesterday and implemented it into my routine yesterday and last night. Total success!!!! I only got up once during the night and hardly had to pee when I woke up this morning! I usually get up about 3-5 times per night. The combination of drinking more during the day, no drinking an hour before bed, kegels while reading in bed and no “just in case” pee’s yesterday worked immediately! Thank you for sharing and making my little world a better place! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Let me add, this problem only gets worse as we age 😮. I'm presently working w a physical therapist to strengthen my pelvic floor. Believe it or not, we are never to old. One of the greatest tips I received: stop drinking soft drinks, especially those with artificial sweetners & caffeine. Do I cheat on the sodas, sometimes & pay the price. I am not a big soda drinker usually but even one a day will cause me issues.

Maybe this is just for men, but I find that working up a sweat in the evening on the treadmill really makes a difference. My theory is that the body urinates to get rid of excess salt in the body. But if you sweat it out first, then your body doesn't need to excrete it during the night. I have a steam sauna, so I also use that after exercise at night. Eating less salt helps, too.

This video was super helpful. Thanks! Part of the reason I think I developed bladder sensitivity is that I get frequent UTIs and my doctor told me never to hold my pee. And since I work from home and drink tons of water, I would end up using the bathroom every time I had the smallest sensation of needing to pee. I am working on retraining my bladder, so thanks for these tips. Especially the one about going one hour before bed and 15 minutes before bed. I need to start doing that. Thanks again!

75 year old here. For the last 35 years I have taken my shower just before I go to bed, initially because I used to catch an early train. Then I found I slept much more soundly after an evening shower, and continue the practice in retirement. The warm water is especially relaxing and (blush) a pee in the shower is especially emptying, and saves on a gallon of flush water...and it all goes into the same pipes anyway. Now I rarely wake at night for a pee, unless the meal the evening before contained paprika, pepper or other spices

The main cause of frequent urination is a low salt diet. These practices on this video are true but they get to the core of the problem which is not eating enough salt in the diet. This goes against everything we are told by doctors and the med system, and it has ravished our society with disease and drug addiction. Salt is the best medicine and eating the right amount (Miso soup, chicken soup, Sole water, adding to food) can and should cut the bathroom trips down to 3 times per day.

Kelly: you are likely on meds that contribute to this issue, including when you take them and the dose, as well as sleeping poorly so that you awaken and start the neurochemical cascade of triggering your kidneys to think it is morning. You are going to need to go outside the box rather than rely on exercises to address your complex needs.

Thank you for your efforts in this regard. I am 73 years old and I've had the cluster of 3 symptoms around urination night and day for at least a decade. All three are annoying, often quite distressing, but of course nighttime frequency is the most perturbing. I have woken at night to pee throughout my life. At age 5 my parents had me tested for diabetes because of this. Typically, in my 30s for example, I would pee twice during the night. Nowadays I will pee on average 4 times per night, while there have been nights when I woke to pee every 30 minutes to one hour. These days my nighttime output is usually very close to 1.5 liters. I have had one prostate procedure two years ago called the "Euro lift" and it helped perhaps with only one of the cluster of three symptoms. That is, my urination is less often painful. (the other two problems being frequency and urgency). Probably the painful urination is presently 90% limited to nighttime urination, and then, not every time I pee, but normally the second time, that is right in the middle of the night when I have been horizontal for 3-4 hours. Also though, the pain IS less intense than it was before my procedure, I have visited the urologist more times than I care to count. I've tried to convince him that it's not a problem with my prostate gland, that it is instead some sort of syndrome. Of course, he would have none of it. (Also note, he is still in his 40s -the sort of fact that I think many if not most older people grapple with when they want to conclude that young people, including doctors, have no real (experiential) basis for empathy towards the problems of aging.) Anyway, I will try harder and with more consistency the things that you suggest. Of course I've tried changing intake habits before but with little noticeable effect. I am a very healthy person otherwise. I take no pharmaceutical drugs, so it is hard to imagine, if I live into my 90s, I will be able to bear these problems every night of my life going forward. I do occasionally (less than once a year) sleep through the night, or perhaps wake only once.

The major reason for excessive urination at night is low AHD. Anti deuretic hormone also known as Vassopressin. In old age either the Hypothalamus doesn't produce this hormone enough or the pituitary gland, where it is stored doesn't secrete it enough. I'm trying to find a way to resolve this problem for my father but hasn't got any answer. Not sure if this method will work.

There are acupressure points on the face that you can do 4 times a day or more to prevent pee in the pants. It only take 2 minutes each time. You can do while laying in bed or watching TV etc.... easy. Rub below your lower lip( rub your chin back and forth 30 times because the nerves of the bladder is between the lower lip and the chin). Rub or massage on both sides of the nostrils 20 times because the kidneys nerves are there. Massage on your forehead 2 points above the middle of eyebrow. Just massage the whole forehead 20 strokes. As to prevent going pee many times, drink marshmallow root tea, 4 cups a day. .. You can buy tea in tea bags or bulk on line or in natural grocery store. One teaspoon of dry root in one cup of water. Boil, then simmer for 5 mn. Then drink 3 cups a day.

Tip number 4. If you have normal blood pressure you can take a quarter of a teaspoon of salt 2-3 hours before bedtime. Work your way up to one level teaspoon if necessary.. Sodium retains fluid and reduces urination. When we lie down at night the fluid in our extremities begins to go towards the kidneys and then the bladder. The extra sodium slows that process down.
@michaell3711 Жыл бұрын

Thankyou Jessica, starting right now, no more going just in case, lol, so understand what you were feeling, and the thought pattern, which i give into, just in case lol, so no more now I’m pelvic exercise 5 mins before turning my light off, toilet 15 mins before going to bed, and toilet 1 hr before bed time, I shall take notes, see how I’m doing after a month, do you have anything on restless legs

I’m trying to stop the just in case pee, I’m working hard to change my mindset on this too and reminding myself to go only when I need to. It’s a tricky one.
