Jessie was ill the week before she appeared on the show. She was in hospital in the UK and her doctor advised her not to travel back to China for the show. She has had a heart condition since her childhood so this song has some meaning to her, hence the pause and the shakes at the end.

What I don't understand is why would an established singer like herself be on a singing competition in China? I would think you want to hear from artist that are not known in the Western World or in America. Somehow I feel is not fair.

Some of the Asain singing competitions are quite different to those in the West. From what I remember all the other artist were established singers in Asia. For this competition you have to be invited to take part and Jessie was the first western singer ever to be invited on the show so it was an honour for her and exposed her to a new market
