I graduated my MA in Script writing a few months ago whilst working a part-time office job three days a week. Right before I graduated I thought I absolutely didn't want to work full time, because my PT job gave me so much time to persue my 'real career' as a screenwriter. I'll tell you now what happened: I was broke constantly, couldn't afford to see my friends or do much fun, so I just sat at home four days a week beating myself up about not writing and having zero creativity or motivation. So two weeks ago when the opportunity came up for my job to become full time and essentially double my pay, I took it and at first I felt a genuine grief that this meant I had 'given up' on my creative career in a matter of months. But you're actually so damn right that it's perfectly fine to just have a job that pays the bills, and interests outside of that. Since I started working full time, I feel like I've taken the pressure off myself to write so I suddenly have so much more motivation. Because I'm not rotting at home and actually have the money to do fun things outside, I'm finding so much more inspiration. The hardest thing of course is now finding the time to write, but at least I'm now using my free time more intentionally than just beating myself up whilst scrolling through Instagram. If you have one dream job in life and then you get it, good for you. But for the majority of people I've really stopped thinking anyone is supposed to just have one 'calling' in life or that what you do to earn money has to be the thing you love doing the most. Life is supposed to be a varied, balanced diet and there's plenty of time to do it all.

8:10 : Best advice ever! I've never felt more free and less stressed about careers, studies and work in general in the last 5 years than about 2 years ago when i finally gave up on my uni degree that i didn't like and that caused a lot of strain on my mental health. I also quitted my student job that i had been working at for 6 years in 2021. Now, I've been happy with my current job, and i just know i can go with the flow and decide to go back to school or try other jobs anytime in the future. I don't feel stuck anymore!

I really appreciated your advice and insights on driving anxiety! I just turned 26 and have avoided getting my license because I have a lot of anxiety getting behind the wheel. Hearing your stories really motivated and encouraged me ❤️

Love this , you cover really interesting topics and give great advice! 🖤 On that driving anxiety note , I’m in a similar boat but I have my full license and have had for years , and a wee car and I’ve been driving around happily , then out of nowhere a few months ago I just got terrified at the thought of driving ! I’ve been going out for wee short drives in the evening when there’s little traffic and it’s helping a bit just to bring my confidence back but the thought of driving in to my local town is really freaking me out , I’ve been getting buses in to work and I’m so annoyed my poor wee car is just sat there looking at me 😢😢😢

Congrats on passing Jessica! I was also in a wreck with my ex partner when I was 18 and stopped learning after that and have only done 2 lessons since. I just went last week and got my learners licence when I saw you passed! I needed a kick up the arse, I'm in Mels position with 2 kids and no licence 😅😅

Talking about the honeymoon phase and peeing in front of each other... 😂 I feel like im still technically in it as i will neeever see the need for someone else to be in the bathroom whilst Im on the toilet. Weve been together for 3 years and live together but ...just why?! My friends think im weird for this but i just dont see why you would ever need to do this 😂

@bretteelana1893 ай бұрын
@colc8535 I myself am an "older woman" and I promise you, once you are older and in a secure relationship, you can speak openly about previous sexual partners and experiences, and your partner will do the same and it is not upsetting at all. It is all part of making a person who they are, and taking someone to the person they end up with.
