Wonderful movie, Jes. I have two bluebird houses in my backyard and love watching their process from building their nest to when the babies fledge. Hopefully you will have many occupants for years to come. My two bluebird houses are very seldom vacant. They are beautiful birds. So glad y’all got to go to the concert. Use the pc. of wood to pound the soil and rocks tight in (hammer) and around the bird stand board to solidify the install, otherwise the next wind will blow it either direction, considering the birdhouse stand is top heavy, plus when they build the nest it will add weight too.

We have bluebird houses and raccons. My husband fashioned a 4-5 inch box of hardwear cloth cut so the wire pokes out. Does not bother the bluebirds but discourages raccons and snakes. 2 years ago we installed blink cameras in the house. Amazing to watch from nest building to fledge.

I have three Bluebird houses around my yard and after the first year, sparrows took over all of them! The comment above about putting two 30 feet apart, have given me new hope for housing Bluebirds! Yes live meal worms are best. I keep a container with live meal worms in a small refrigerator. Wild birds unlimited has special bluebird foods. Bluebirds are picky.

I got four flats at Jim’s green house for 20 last year they let you stack plants on The carts not this year but I still got a lot then ace hard ware gave me ten bucks for my bday coupon I got 15 bucks worth for five bucks as they were on sale 😊

I just put up another bird house. A squirrel chewed the hole in our old one. You can protect the birds from predators by attaching a ring around the hole. Amazon sells a variety just for this purpose. Blue birds are so pretty.

Jes, place a guard around the hole. Raccoons will eat the eggs. The guard protects the eggs from predators.

I'm sure your Bluebird pole will be definitely sturdy enough but if you ever find yourself needing something more sturdy you can use pea pebbles in the hole which act like cement it's amazing

Sometimes animals need access to water and if they don’t have that access they will eat things that provide them with water…… fruits, vegetables, plants.💐💚🙃 Example the raccoons drinking out of your pool. 💐💚🙃

I put up a bluebird house on my privacy fence post. You chose the spot to place yours that I liked best. Looks great there. I also got a “fancy” birdhouse to put up. I’m not going to cement it in, either. I will be using a 4x4. Haven’t had a chance to go get the post yet. lol So cool you’ve got an album coming out. FYI - to actually get bluebirds these nest boxes should be installed in PAIRS, ideally about 20 feet apart. What typically happens is that house sparrows - which are a much more aggressive species - forcibly claim the birdhouse as their own. However, since they are so territorial, they will not permit another sparrow family to occupy the second birdhouse. That leaves it free for bluebirds to move into. So in effect, one of the two birdhouses is a "sacrificial" one.

I feel so bad for you and your allergies!! Not sure if you are already taking allergy meds daily but nasocort (store brand works just as great and much cheaper) nasal allergy spray has been a game changer for me!! Also take a daily oral allergy med like zyrtec or something similar. If you decide to try I hope it helps! Everything is looking great in the garden! Love the look of the birdhouse down there!

I noticed someone said the raccoons will get the eggs. They have these metal pieces that can be attached to the hole into the house. It prevents animals and other birds from getting in to the babies.

I used a metal T post, and the snakes still get up there. They got the eggs 2 years in a row. Now we spray Repels All at the base.
