Sure it’s annoying, the cardboard boxes covered with plastic, the piles of garbage but if it’s annoying to see, what’s it like to have to live like that? So many of the homeless have serious mental illnesses and/or addiction problems. Isaiah told us that a nation will be judged by how it cares for the widow and the orphan. I don’t think we are doing a very good job of that either. Sometimes, I wish I were a billionaire because I could really do something rather than just the cribs and dabs I can afford.

HE held the Bible upside down at a news channel. He caused our Capitol police severe mental trauma and physical harm even death. Walk in grace through faith in Jesus, not by works of the law.

I have never been a very political person, but I have been torturing myself about what choices I need to make in the upcoming election and what’s going on in the Christian community-how it has become more and more divided. I did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016. I never even took him seriously as a candidate. What is happening now in our country is very scary and threatening to our freedom and how we should govern our nation. So many pastors and teachers that I admire, people who have taught me so much in my walk with Christ are supporting this man and I couldn’t understand why. Thank you! I am concerned for the souls of the people in the MAGA movement. The idolatry is overwhelming. They bow down and worship this man. They treat his every word and action as infallible. They speak and act with unquestioning obedience. They call him the savior of our nation and the world. We have but one Savior, and that is Jesus! Many are far too willing to take up actual arms to mow down anyone who should disagree or confront him. You couldn't get farther from the teaching of Jesus than that. I'm not a church going guy but I have read the Bible. It's my opinion that many evangelical pastors are quick to quote scripture but never seem to follow the teachings of the Bible. They judge those who aren't like them. They don't turn the other cheek it seems to me that many pastors are false teachers wolves in sheep's clothing. Especially the prosperity pastors. The way they conduct themselves leads me to believe that they really don't believe in heaven or hell. I'm usually a lot harsher but you aren't the typical evangelical pastor who is saying that the Bible and Jesus are too woke. They preach that God sent trump to do his bidding. According to the Bible I read that would be blasphemy.

Before commenting I would like to preface that I am an agnostic-atheist so this does come from a perspective that is detached from the faith. However, I am appreciative of Christians coming out and taking a stand for their beliefs in this regard. My own Christian families' support for Trump has led me to a lot of confusion the past 7 years. I'm not unfamiliar with Christian doctrine and in some instances I think I know it better than my family, sometimes directly quoting scripture in rebuttal of their political opinions. Part of my reason for leaving the faith was rooted in the fact that politics superseded the faith of the people around me. They sacrificed their convictions for political power. Too often it seems like faith is used as a tool for personal gain rather than a spiritual guide. While I don't believe anymore, I'd like to see Christians live by what their Bible says than live as a hypocrite.

@@malibu03jt It isn't. The incident happened in 2015, when two Trump supporters beat up a homeless guy with a metal pipe and urinated on him, because they thought he was an illegal immigrant. But to Trump's credit, this was one of the rare instances where he actually condemned the violence afterwards: "Boston incident is terrible. We need energy and passion, but we must treat each other with respect. I would never condone violence." At his rallies, however, Trump frequently encouraged violence: "Try not to hurt him. But if you do, I'll pay for you in court, don't worry about it." "If you see someone with a tomato, knock the living crap out of them, will you?" These are the kinds of things he said not in private, but in public to huge crowds (and raucous acclaim).

Thank you for this thought-provoking and moving teaching. It's a beautiful example of how reason and faith must both be present for Christ's Word to take root and flourish in the middle of secular society. May this lost way of teaching find its way back into evangelical Christianity, so that it will not wither and die, but instead renew itself and inspire the larger culture toward greater and greater loving-kindness, compassion, and good works.

This I want to convey that no human being is perfect. Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. As long as one lives and repent of their sins, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, learn of Him and serve Him, he/she is identified as a Christian. As a result of studying the Word of God you began to bear the fruit of the Spirit. The opposite happens when you become a want to be Like Christ and not follow Him. God’s Word has revealed to us what happened to Satan and his followers when he tried to change God’s story. Today we are seeing in real time the fruits of Satan being influenced upon the minds of many people. Sadly, many of his followers say they are Christians.

Its amazing that so many Christians cannot see how evil and all his lies and criminal activities don't bother them really baffles me! I admire that you're trying to wake them up and to save our Country before its too late. He had to leave his desire to overthrow the Romans and follow Christ alone. I wonder if Jesus would say, Follow Me and leave your former life of politics. Follow me alone.
