The Mount of Temptation, overlooking the Judean desert, is, according to tradition, the mountain on which Jesus was tempted by the devil during his 40-day fast. Built into its steep rock face clings the Greek Orthodox Monastery of the Temptation of Jesus.
As recorded in scripture, in Matthew (4:1-11), Luke (4:1-13), and Mark (1:12-13), Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil. After fasting for 40 days and 40 nights, Jesus was approached by the tempter, who challenged him three times - to turn a stone into bread, to throw himself off the mountain, and to accept the offer of “all the kingdoms of the world” in return for his allegiance.
The 1,200-foot high limestone peak is also known as Mount Quarantania and Jabal al-Qarantal in Arabic. The name derives from the Latin word quarantena, which means 40, as in the number of days that Jesus fasted.
Monks and hermits have lived within the caves of the Mount of Temptation since the early days of Christianity. In 340, on the site of Hasmonean ruins, a monk named St. Chariton founded a monastery called the Laura of Douka, on the Mount of Temptation. The monastery, built by turning natural cave formations into cells and chapels, was destroyed during the Persian invasion in 614.
In the Middle Ages, the desert was home to thousands of monks and hermits, who came to live in the Judean wilderness as Jesus did.
The present-day Monastery of the Temptation of Jesus was rebuilt in the 19th century by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate. Within the monastery is a staircase that leads to the very stone that tradition tells us marks the spot where Jesus sat while being tempted by the devil. The stone is part of the apse of the Chapel of Temptation.
The Mount of Temptation, which overlooks the Jordan Valley, with spectacular panoramic views of the Dead Sea and the mountains of Moab and Gilead, is about three miles from Jericho in the West Bank of the Jordan River. The summit can be reached by in a 30-minute walk by way of a steep steep path that runs by the monastery. Since the 1990s, visitors have also been able to ascend the mountain by a cable car from Jericho. Located in a Palestinian-controlled part of the West Bank, Jericho is a 25-minute drive from Jerusalem.
The Monastery of the Temptation of Jesus is open to both men and women (unlike some sites administered by the Orthodox Greek Church) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

🕊MY TESTIMONY 🔥 YAHUSHUA lifted me up right at the gate of death, I just knew I was going to die, barely breathing and many health problems, Then on Easter of 2020, GOD said to me: THERE SHALL BE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME, I said to HIM yes father I am sorry about that... 2 days later would have been the day I would have died 3:00pm. I was laying on my recliner straight out, I felt a very gentle hand on my neck, I KNEW it was JESUS. Then I heard a tiny click and it should have been my last breath, my lungs made a small wheezing sound or my last breath.. since then everyday GOD and Jesus and the beautiful HOLY SPIRIT are working through me. Several days later I had so much pain in my head from my forehead to the base of my neck in the back.. again I was laying on my recliner laying straight out, my thoughts were oh GOD, oh GOD, oh GOD, I said to GOD: please sustain me GOD, within less than a second every hurting painful everything was gone! I got up and was running around and telling my mom and praising and thanking GOD. I would ask GOD and Jesus questions and I have a big Bible, the beautiful HOLY SPIRIT opened up the Bible, this is the 2nd time I was led by the HOLY SPIRIT to open the Bible, it read : in the year twenty and twenty three there will be a great biblical event, I read it 3 or 4 times then I closed my Bible, I would ask Jesus to show me that again.. not so! It was shown to me in my spiritual eyes. The 1st time was Easter 2020 , I never read about Jesus crucifixion, the LORD opened the Bible and in an instant I was crying my eyes out, the horror! But the beautiful rising on the 3rd day. About a month and a half later I opened an app I installed 3 weeks earlier. Here is where YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH JESUS showed me a prophecy telling me to stop telling HIM to forgive them, they know not what they are doing, here I learned what sch!zophren!a, spiritual warfare! Tyrannical governments sorcerers and witchcraft they were and still are using on all the people who are called mentally ill.. YAHUVEH is the apple of my eye. Jesus knew very well that he was a son of a Ghost or son of the Sun because Ghosts are created by fire or the Sun therefore to my opinion Jesus Christ made a mistake to say that he was coming from the house of David than saying that he came from the house of the Sun known to the Egyptian as a disck called Atum or Aten Ra is the house of Ghosts which created Man in their image after their likeness! Remember before the wise King Solomon married queen Sheba who was worshipping the Sun Disck known as Atum or Aten Ra and the wise King Solomon was worshipping the Moon God Amun Ra also known as Thoth God of Wisdom because the word wise comes from Wisdom and when the wise King Solomon married queen Sheba, King Solomon changed and started worshipping Ghosts and Allah gave him the authority to speak with ghosts! Oh so "God" was tempted by the devil, is that the quality of God, that He can be overtaken by the devil, is God a weakling?! Jesus never existed! Part 1 NT Gospels: All written in Greek by unknown authors. Mark was written some time after the year 70, Luke about 110, Matthew about 130, and John not earlier than 140 CE. This proves that they were not written by Christ's disciples, or by any of the early Christians Jesus is depicted as hugely popular in the gospels. Yet he is unrecorded by non-Biblical historians. Paul was the first one to write about Jesus around 60CE; but he, like everyone else, never saw Jesus. He experienced a vision of the resurrected Jesus. Even Paul’s existence is in serious doubt. John Gresham Machen wrote: The establishment of Christianity as a world religion, to almost as great an extent as any great historical movement can be ascribed to one man, was the work of Paul. I also read that the history of the first three popes was invented because they never existed. A sect persecuted by Christians in the early days of Christianity, said that St. Peter’s bones in the Vatican came from a skeleton in the 4th century. The Vatican never allowed a DNA test on the bones. How did the wise men hear about his birth and how come no one ever wrote about it before Matthew did in 130CE?

Jesus never existed! Part 2 Modern archeologists agree that the only thing in Nazareth in the first century was a well for camel caravans. The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem was invented because Jews believed that their savior would be born there. Joseph had to go to Bethlehem for a Roman census. I read that only the man of the family had to attend and these censuses actually started a few years later. Do you actually believe that Mary traveled on the back of a donkey for 60 miles (100 kms), while over 8 months pregnant? The symbol of Jesus on a cross was first used in the 6th century, replacing a lamb. The world has been for a long time engaged in writing lives of Jesus. The library of such books has grown since then. But when we come to examine them, one startling fact confronts us: all of these books relate to a personage concerning whom there does not exist a single scrap of contemporary information -- not one! The Christian god, Yahweh and Allah are the same god. They all flooded the earth and saved Noah and his family. You have all been fooled by religion! So sad!
