Thank u for this. Being a teacher, it is always tempting to like religion. But the definition of "the fear of God" is so liberating. What a wonderful description of our walk with God. Joshua.

I grew up in the Deep South (Louisiana) like Baxter and grew up in the Southern Baptist Church (we dunk instead of sprinkle, which is about the gist of the differences between our upbringings). This message, like all of his messages, has helped me because I always thought that there was something else I needed to do or do better for God to like me; I feel free...

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 Eternity is hidden within our hearts, because if we were to know what God has done from beginning to end, we would try to change it.

Thank you. Today is Christmas 2019 and it was necessary for me to cancel my plans to stay home with my precious feline boy who has been with me for around 20 years. He's far into his kidney disease and has been suffering and crying. Soon, possibly tomorrow he will be put to rest and there are times I find myself sobbing - it hurts so much to watch my fur baby suffer. I've lived alone since I was 19 and Pippin has been with me most of those years. This message has comforted me, reminding me that my God and my Savior hold him and myself in His unfailing loving-kindness.

Why do some theologians refer to the holy spirit as female?
@courtneybrubaker97386 жыл бұрын
In the Hebrew the pronouns and verbs are feminine
@courtneybrubaker97385 жыл бұрын
In the original Hebrew, breath, wind is always feminine. Often breath and wind is described as the Holy Spirit. God is both female and male. All thru Bible God is described in imagery in both. The root word for womb is mercy. Do a word study on God as female in Bible.. quite interesting. Western Evangelicals prefer male in, out, above and through for dominant purposes. This is not the fullness of God. We are created, male and female in God’s image and likeness. What does that really mean?

🌼 Just as we are father, mother & child, so is our heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit is the mom, but as He is sorted out in Himself, you can refer to the Spirit as male or female, as God is Spirit & Love. No offence. its only the carnal mind that constantly wants to figure out spirit-stuff. We are one with Him, one with Love, Truth & Light 💞

It’s funny how in the west we think the “Father” could beget a “Son” by way of another male.
