I mean, if she would've deffended Leigh Anne at that moment, it may could've created tension between her and Nicki, who just helped her debut become as popular as it could. And because of that, you don't want to ruin that kind of bussines "relationship" with smn as big as Nicky just right from the start, cause then your career would probably get negatively affected (tho it's gotten really affected anyways lol). It was an uncofortable situation for her, to "pick side" with your best friend or with the big artist who's helping you in your career. Even though I would always choose my friends over anyone, I do understand why she chose not to say anything after Nicky's comments towards Leigh, specially when things are not going well with her ex band mates.

Well it's not that difficult to make out. The comparison, the insecurities that she felt while being compared to others and the rigorous schedule was definitely a nightmare but her time with the girls were awesome. I'm probably the most unfortunate fan. I discovered little mix in March this year and went on a marathon with all their videos, songs, funny moments, x factor and everything. The most hurtful part is by the time I knew them, Jesy left followed by her drama with little mix. And now little mix goes on a hiatus. I'm not gonna comment on any controversy as even though I'm a woman of colour I'm still Indian and not black hence I won't be in a position to understand many things. However we too have been victims of racism and colonialism so I'm not entirely clueless. That being said, it hurts my heart to see the fandom get this divided. People sending death threats(both sides apply) , people cropping the girls out or Jesy out of the girls. My question is: if you all are fans since 2011(you should consider yourself lucky, look at me!) how can you all be so toxic to the girls. I only discovered them recently yet I already love them so much that I can never bring myself to actually hate them! Let's say some people find Jesy's action problematic (of course given the number of people outraged I'm not denying she didn't do anything problematic) and let's just assume some Jesy fans found Leigh Anne's liking that video problematic (I try to understand this view point as well) but tell me something, there are problematic members in family as well, sometimes your own parents or siblings are problematic, do you discard them away? No, you learn to forgive and live cause they're family. Little mix have been in your lives for 10 years( you guys have no idea how lucky you are) and suddenly how can you turn against each other and the girls this way? Where's the love? I literally discovered them yet after watching everything and understanding both sides I love them so much that I can't bring myself to hate any of them. I cried so much when Jesy defended herself through tears and cried so much when Leigh Anne defended herself. I would from now always support all 4 of them. Love them with all my heart. Jesy has said on multiple occasions that she loved performing with the girls and she has some of the most amazing memories being in Little Mix. But she also has some of the worst with online bullying and mental abuse. Not once has Jesy came out and spoken bad about the girls. Yes she laughed when Nicki was ripping into Leigh-Anne and that was bad on her part. But she's human. We all make mistakes. She has never said she has a problem with any of the girls nor has she defended them. I don't see how she's being manipulative at all. I think you're reading to much into it.

Im from Brazil and grow up in a very mixed culture. I live in a place with a strong influence of brazilian black culture. And scares a lot to think that ppl would nagatively judge me If i decided to make music, or any other artistic expression, of something i saw and lived my entire life. Im not white, but also not black. Im "parda". I have hair and skin color that looks a lot like Jesy. It just feels weird to imagine being in her place, for being me and making music i love

In London Zeze Millzs is pretty big & she speaks on situations like this, black culture, being racially ambiguous & protecting black woman etc. Watch her videos. I’m a VERY light skinned mixed race woman (curly hair, blue eyes) & it’s ppl like jesy that are “black fishing, trying to look racially ambiguous” that feel they are doing nothing wrong because “it’s not that dark” or “doesn’t look black” it is taking away from all of the mixed ppl her shade and under. Everyone goes lighter in winter, Especially mixed ppl. It isn’t an excuse to use fake tan. If you look darker then a mixed person when you have a natural tan that’s fine, just don’t compare arm shades

So sadly, some of my fellow Black people decided that Jesy was blackfishing in the Boyz' music video because she has tan skin and wears a curly wig. There was also talk about her stereotyping Black men. I guess these folks forgot to actually watch the video and notice that there are several non Black men in the video (white men) as well as non Black women (Asian & White) in the video as well. It was actually extremely diverse in its casting. Furthermore, the video was styled by Toni Blaze, a Nigerian Fashion Editor & Stylist based in London. And as most of us know, the song features a sample of Bad Boys for Life by Diddy. That said, the song & video featured a lot of work by Black creatives. But instead of celebrating the positive aspects, people chose to be negative and find a reason to bully a white woman. There is a lot of racism in this world and yes, black people have experienced some of the worst racism possible. However, dragging a white woman on the innanet is not going to uplift the black race and help the plight of black artists. And if these blackfishing accusers were truly down and woke, they'd be streaming and buying music by black artists like Kelly Rowland, Keke Palmer, Amber Riley, Kamille, and Blackswan (Kpop group with a black member named Fatou).

People, hear me out here: I like Jesy, but I do NOT condone bullying and racism at all. If she was doing them deliberately, then NO, I do not whatsoever condone it, especially after all the bullying she's been through; if she was doing this deliberately, then she had no right to do it after everything she's been through. I do hope one day she apologises to Leigh-Anne. HOWEVER, I do still admire her strength as a person. She inspires and empowers me so much with everything she's been through. I miss her being in Little Mix. BUT I do still love Jade, Leigh Anne and Perrie. I don't want anything to change that. I'm going to see Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne live in concert next year. They all inspire me so so much after everything they've been through; they've shown they've come out stronger than ever before. I don't want to choose sides. I understand completely how this must feel with everything Jesy is done, or is being accused of, but I can't shake the feeling of Jesy inspiring me so so much. I wish I was into Little Mix when Jesy was still there, because she easily would have been my favourite when she was in Little Mix. She might be a completely different person now than she was then and there, but again, I cannot whatsoever shake the feeling of her inspiring me to be the best person I can be. Bottom line, I want to be fans of both Jesy's and Little Mix's music. But, after seeing what everyone is saying about this whole blackfishing bullshit, then it makes me feel like I am being disloyal to Leigh and the other Little Mix girls, and I really hope that's not the case. I want to be a loyal fan of theirs, as I still love their music so so so much.
