I've found that it's easier to remove the boarding step if you use a couple zip ties at the hinge point to secure the step in the down position . Much easier removing and reinstalling the screws when you're not having to fight to spring tension.

hoping you can help me out with a few things. the propeller is sized to the shaft so i just removed the housing with the wear ring and left the propeller on the shaft. any idea how to get it off? and also how do you change the wear ring it looks like it may br aluminum

I kept the swim step on, then removed the ride plate, it will give you more room to loosen the quick disconnects and the speedo. From there I also kept the bucket and and removed 4 bolts on the pump. super easy, but can be done either way.

It is highly recommended not to remove the ride plate. The speedo does not need removal, the ball joints are in an easy spot. Removing the ride plate requires scraping the old silicone off both the hull and ride plate, purchasing expensive marine silicone, reapplying and waiting to dry. All adding about 2-3 hours plus the cost of the silicone and dry time. It is advised to follow the steps in the video to avoid unnecessary steps. Enjoy!

@@kawiperformance Per instructions in the service manual I removed the ride plate on my STX to service the pump. Once I got it apart I realized removing and reinstalling the ride plate was a lot of unnecessary work . Much faster and easier doing it like in your video.

It will not fit, you have to stick with the 148mm

Don't forget the bolts on the bottom of the ride plate! If they are removed and it is stuck, reinstall the nozzle, use a 2x4 (No metal pipes or you will break something) and push up, down, size to side and eventually it will break free.
