As someone who got introduced to Jet Set Radio through Future, the fact that SEGA has actively chosen to forget about it makes me sad as JSRF was what got me into the series. I just wanna experience the sound and memories of tokyo-to future again.

Honestly I truly believe after Bomb Rush Cyberfunk drops, we'll definitely hear a lot more about the upcoming JSR project. With that in mind if they were to make a new one, I'd love the idea of multiplayer where you could make your own character; Create A Rudie. But you'd have this character and be able to play against other people online in score attack or races or maybe just have a hub where you could hangout with other players in between matches and the like. Maybe even add the option to form your own gang of Rudies too and challenge rival gangs to get more street cred. I've always liked the idea of some sort of multiplayer aspect in a JSR title and would love to see that explored.

Thanks for doing a part 2. I am greatful that we have fans that took it upon themselves to keep the rudie spirit alive. 2 mello, even without the tribute albums, has that JSR feel to his music. "Oh great!" Mangaka with "air gear". The anime I rewatch every few years. Fusty games with "hover". Team Reptile with "bomb rush cyber funk". Both those games embodied JSR so hard that our funky uncle came on there to put on a couple songs for those games. Its crazy! Not to mention the games you showed off in this video. Came so close, but sega said no. Its very disapointing. What I'm getting at is, weather a JSR3 ever offically happens from sega, I am happy and greatful to know that we fans are continuing the series in any way we can. Thank you everyone. c:

I wonder if some of the original devs that were working on the idea for Evolution moved over to Tango Gameworks and had a hand in Hi-Fi Rush. Or if that was just another studio with some very similar inspirations. Would be great if they ever can get a Jet Set Radio 3 done.
@jagdteaguer Жыл бұрын
Jet set radio Evo's style isn't how I'd have gone style wise but seeing it modeled sold me on it, the old design was very dystopian which worked with the story but seeing the future cyber take really made it feel modern and bold, i'd have been completely sold, its like with all the time we lived without a 3rd installment society was repaired and flourished in technology advancements that the world is thriving, it nearly sets the perfect scene for a follow up game. He was hitting every design beat perfectly, we can only imagine what could have been and pray that Sega picks this project up, we have the consoles and pc's that can run mechanics that would be an unreal action adventure game. Also shout out to the aggressive inliner in the documentary, I also got into aggressive with JSRF and hearing him calling out the skate designs based on actual brand styles made me miss skating lol, respect man dont stop rolling.

JSR Evolution looked amazing visually. Truly felt like a next logical step for the series going off of Future. With how harsh shading with cross-hatching and colored outlines as opposed to pure black ones were handled. Really happy you got the devs for it on here. I was always really interested to hear what their thought process was for the redesigns. It's really funny the character proportions were apparently inspired by horny anime statues. That is a crazy revelation. It sucks it wasn't picked up, but it's not at all surprising. Happy they're at least using what they learned working on that for something else, because they have something really strong going on there.

If you heard of it then you must be from Up North lol but yeah I got it for the Dreamcast and I fell in love with this game instantly! Now I have a strong feeling that Sega will be showing off some type of teaser or some kind for JSR in OG Sega Fashion.... prime example : Roller Champions is the first actual crossover from a different franchise that is not by Sega. This is huge btw!!! Which tells me further the down the road we will see more cool collabs for Jet Set Radio leading to an actual reveal and Imma be honest here and bold to say this but I feel Sega may hit up Team Reptile to have a small collab for JSR (This could happen who knows) ?? Wishful thinking?? Nah I don't think so but anyways I haven't a string gut feeling Sega about to blow us all way soon cause the way the COO of the company talking about bringing back Old Sonic games that people wanna see is good to see so again I can't wait to see what the future may hold for us die hard JSR and JSRF fans! The JSR series has been heavily influential in my life, especially as an artist and creator. The hope is alive for a new game in the future, I only hope that it's made with the same love and passion that the previous two were made with. Awesome documentary! For a question for the potential QNA: Do you think a new JSR game (potentially the one showed off in the leaks) would feature new gangs like the Squabble Hawks or Swivel Ninjas? Not those gangs exactly, but just new ideas in general? Also, do you think they'll do the same thing as JSR and JSRF where certain levels/maps are locked to a certain time of day? Such as how Benton-cho is always at night, Shibuya-cho in the day, and Kogane-cho in the evening.

Jet Set Radio Future 3 would be great to see but it is hard to believe it would ever happen. Almost everyone in this video misses the essence of what made JSRF a cult favorite, although the did their level best to wrap their minds around the 'why.' The reason is simply, the fictional characters of the Jet Set franchise represented people who were thrown away. They were the pushed down, the forgotten, the orphaned, the underdog. For example, DJ Professor K had an edgy feel to him not because of his race but his personality. His voice and character work were carefully crafted to bring out the 'rebel' buried within the player, regardless of who they are or were. If you racially identify with a particular game character because they share the same race as you, you are completely missing the point of the game's storyline. Observing that the characters are 'diverse' is a sophomoric and superficial over-gloss of the game's intrinsic nature: The JSRF kids are on the run, they have no money ( I mean come on, the 'garage' is just an open lot of abandoned junk, that was on purpose!), wielding no real-world power excepting their mad skating skills and unique creative forces. This is not driven by diversity or race but from a kernel within everyone who has ever been pushed down or cast away. Today, the diversity message is over-saturated, mainstream and everywhere. It is no longer counter-culture. To apply the stencil of JSRF's world view in 2002 onto a 2024 world, the only qualifying counter-culture group would probably be, who I wonder? What group of people are demonized in the real-world today, on mainstream media? Jet Set Radio Future took a lot of cultural chances for it's time. Embracing diversity and all the other oft-mentioned headline making catch words is no longer edgy; If anything it's over-done to the point of exhaustion. Honestly, I don't think anyone out there in the video game industry has the nerve to go against the mainstream narrative today.

The world is diverse. Not sure why you're obsessed with it, if you insist it doesn't matter. Especially during a time when a major political party has a screaming meltdown when you mention racial disparity in prison sentencing or simply acknowledge that LGBTQ kids exist. None of this is in opposition to how an authoritarian government treats the poor and unwanted. In fact, trying to fracture the oppressed is how they prevent meaningful rebellion.

A JSRF MMO would be crazy, but the original players might not like that. It would allow for characters to have more personality plus they can make boss fights more interesting, combat would be cool to see, the world could really be flushed out and shown in a brand new way and customization would have absolutely no limit.

Isn't that what Hover did? It was basically a JSR MMO

@@MrPresttoSauce Yeah, but a true JSRF MMO would be a lot better with the original characters and setting, it's just not the same otherwise.

MMO JSR would be too chaotic i'll settle for 8-player or something

i think if jsr3 wants a chance to continue shattering boundaries even harder than before, they need to tap into the real rollerblading communities and pros, and tap into gameplay elements and narratives impossible without their input.

I'd like if there was different skates you could wear, like one for speed, another for grinding, and then a sorta balanced one that does both but a little slower

@@Noobwitha_Hat i dont think we can begin to focus on the gameplay until an overarching gameplay narrative and style is established that not only fits the bill, but totally shatters boundaries in the way weve come to expect from jsr

@@Noobwitha_Hat i suppose technically the gameplay itself could be an element or a catalyst in that change. there is a Ton of experimentation with skates and equipment in the last 10 years of blading
