Love my 2021 AR195. Best recreational purchase I have ever made. Have had it for 2 seasons now and looking forward to putting it back in the water in a few weeks. Perfect size for me and my wife with plenty of room for guests as well. Great channel, you have lots of great boating tips here.

For my retirement 4 years ago I bought me a 2021 FSH195-Sport center console with the supercharged engine (new). Have never owned a boat besides a 10 foot Jon boat with paddles. This is my fourth season and I love it. I’m single and go out at least once a week. Watching this channel and others plus forums makes boating more enjoyable. I pay for it to be stored indoors and secured. My location is where there’s NO rentals so purchasing was my only option if I wanted one. It turned out to be a BIGGER boat that I had imagined and bought a new 4-door 4X4 truck to avoid boat ramp issues. I enjoy buying the after market accessories. Fours years old and still loving it. JBP provides some great accessories and excellent videos to make boating GREAT!

Nice. I'm just getting started in boating. I need to learn everything. I had no idea what I wanted for a boat. A buddy's recommendation from previously owning a 2004 SX230 has helped me make up my mind. I want a Yamaha jet boat! 242LTD S is the way im leaning. Cool comparison and great information. Thanks

I have a 2006 AR230. It's in great shape and runs excellent. You pointed out the differences but my AR230 gets the job done. I live near the Colorado River and a jet boat is the only way to go. Keep making these videos. I love to see what is new on the market.

Awesome video Will! Had an '07 AR230 for three years then got a brand new '16 242 Limited S E-Series in red. What an improvement. The '07 definitely took more skill to maneuver at slow speeds and made jumping right into the '16 so easy. Sold that boat after 3 years of ownership and have recently been looking at the 275SD. I think it could be the perfect boat for the coastal waters here in Pensacola with a little more weight, length, and width. May jump into one soon..

Are jet boats more for lakes and bays then the ocean? Curious How do you deal with choppy water without being able to trim up or down ?
@JetBoatPilot2 ай бұрын
They do pretty well in bays. We boat exclusively in salt water on St Andrews Bay in Florida. The average conditions are 1 to 2 foot chop and we have no issues at all. They're trimmed pretty neutral from the factory and if you want to add trim you can do that with SeaKeeper Ride or other trim systems.

I feel like Yamaha boats offer the most for your investment. I’m in Chicago with Lake Michigan being the most dangerous of the fresh water lakes. We get average 1-2 foot waves and 3-10 + with windy conditions. Coming out from center harbors is rough.

Trying to sell my very good pontoon and get an AR 190.. all I need.. I like the big of pontoons.. but like better the easy to work with Yamaha boats. Very simple too like the outboard toon.

Are you referring to the rudders? If you are those are called Thrust Vector and are designed to give additional control and steering responsiveness at low speeds.

Hey Will, great video. As you know i have that exact same 2006 boat and still use it. It looks in about the same condition as the one in you video. I do applaud Yamaha for all the innovations they have made but with that comes another set of issues that I don t know if its good or bad. My boat in 2006 was $29500 out the door from Miami boat show. Today the cost of these boats is over triple and beyond, stopping me from investing in one. My 06 is simple tech today compared to the new but I feel all the tech wrapped up into that display that basically controls the entire boat is an area for a major concern and expense in the long run. Will if function in 10-15 years? What does these kind of electronics cost to replace in the future, being all analog on the 2006 these products in my opinion are more reliable and easier to replace, I'm going on 20 years, I have had issues with engines and salt water even though I flush religiously, this is a product of the MR-1 cooling design which thankfully Yamaha has taken care of in the newer boats. I know technology is unstoppable and Yamaha has done the best job of innovating, these boats are way more capable then the old generations. I pay close attention the the entire line up of Yamaha water craft and though I will probably never own a brand new Yamaha boat do to cost, I do still feel proud every time I am in mine and around people. My 2006 has been the greatest boat I have ever owned and I Thank Yamaha for the countless hours I have spent with my children growing up and the great times I have gotten to spend with my wife enjoying this boat now I am using it with my grand children for more memories, though I'm sure they would appreciate all the new tech the new boats have. I watch all your videos and am proud of you for how far you have brought Jetboat Pilot since the boat bling days. Continue the great work and if I ever do get a new Yamaha boat you will be one of the first to hear.
