I carry a bag of tortilla shells with me when I travel. It makes for a good bread substitute and can be used for the breakfast meals or fajitas. Plus they wont mold and dont need to be refrigerated. Cheers.

The Mountain House brand is the Best tasting freeze dried meals. My favorite is the Spaghetti and Meat Sauce. We use a Jet Boil also, the Sumo.

I've cooked all sorts of things in mine for over a year, every day. Do NOT let it boil over. If you're willing to watch it like a hawk until the cooking temp is stable, it makes perfect rice.

Thanks for the input, I’ve been wanting to get a jet boil for wildland fire deployments, think I will now!

I like them. I just got home from a 4 day canoe trip with a fire ban. The jet boil was great to prepare mre's

Do you need to use "Jetboil" fuel canister or any standard canister will fit?
@n9oqu5 жыл бұрын

The Jetboil is a great stove if all you want to do is boil water and eat freeze dried meals, it is however something of a one trick pony. I personally prefer cooking my own meals. Great video though, and I loved the scenery!

Actually the Jetboil comes with a pot rest and can be used as a fuel stove to cook anything on. Off the top of my head, I've cooked pancakes, chilli, and other things. The benefits of camp cooking on a fuel stove like the Jetboil is that you can control the heat a lot better than over a fire and the direct environmental impact is low. So, its actually a perfect solution for "Wild Camping" in the UK (for example). Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, always great to connect with people.

Jason Eke I have nothing against gas stoves Jason, I own a few of them including the Jetboil. It just wouldn't be my choice of stove to cook or bake with. I do agree that the dehydrated food has vastly improved over the years and is now pretty good, I think my favorite is Chili Mac.

Jason Eke so you can control the temperature easily? Would you be able to keep a steady boil for around 10 minutes, im thinking about cooking dried pasta but wouldn’t want to evaporate all the water immediately

Forestyforest has cooked meals in his jetboil

@@Aldorthemerry I have used a frying pan on mine and cooked eggs and pancakes. If you bring it to a boil and put the pasta in a pan, you can put a lid over it and the pasta should cook without needing a constant heat. just like he showed with the meal he made.

I have the jet boil jet a pocket rocket and bsr 3000 , I think the jet boil is overrated and to fiddly to use when water is boiling ,atm the bsr 3000 is my favourite all packed into a compact pot with a small gas cylinder etc and it was only £5 and you can spend what you want on a pot
