I saw his performance at Madison Square Garden in October 1971 he did 18 shows there that month. I was 14 years old and he had played a prerelease version of Thick As A Brick. Memorable show.😅

Ian Anderson has still got it going on! I can't believe how entertained I was with this video. It's been a long time since I went to a Tull concert but I would love to see them again. Aqualung was my first Tull album and it is my favorite song on the album and I love every song. ✌️♥️.

This is critical artistic atitude on the stage. Real big artist. And i like this song a lot. This song make invasion into my mind. Especcialy when i see it in Live in London 1977. This is so extraordionary stage artist. And so flower powered rock music. It was some rennasaince in some way. And i do not catch a lyrics from a first time. I though it was about, some strange adventures to other planets... and auqalung it is a dive into another planets ocean, submarine to dive, and to rise in some antarctic cold lands... in another planet.. so my fantasy brings me to another world. World of space explore, and enignireing stuf, world of socialism. Well, i has engineer soviet education. And i like i have it. But, well, lately, yes, i get they lyrics...it is about another things.

For me it was like some tale of explorer. Maybe someone like Captain Kirk, or Picard from Star Trek. But in my vision it was about submarine in some cold waters. And cold sun, dark cluds... It is a duck - can swim, but dead...so some technical problems... And time...time...is going. And... Auqalung..and maybe problems with breath. So i decode this as some sci fi tale. To explore of space, and waters of another space, planets.... So they need a salvation of a tech problem...while they on a submarine..they have parol some...for some point... And cold clouds...freezzeee, ice, like antarctica cold and unfriendly unwelcome dark waters...of a distant region....Auqalung is your frind in this case, and it is not easy. So, keyword AUQAULUNG my FRINED. i decode as i asci fi adventure in a cold waters.... And this is a big epic tale.... Maybe something like this i heard in IRON MAIDEN RUNNING SILENT RUNNING DEEP.

The camera choreography could have been better. I love Ian, but Jethro Tull was a band. Yet the cameras ignored Martin's solo to watch Ian spin around and watch the back of Doane's neck for several seconds. 90 percent Ian, 10 percent band isn't good camera work.
