I do listen to Tull very often, did so as well when I still lived with my parents, and my mother often told me to turn the volume down because of the neighbours. - One day I ran into the lady from next door, and she told me she would always appreciate it when my window is open while listening to this interesting music.

Martin Barre...most underrated rock guitarist of all time

True, it is a great

Said that years ago already: Since everyone says he's underrated (which means rating him high), he is not underrated. So perhaps people should go for "most properly rated guitarist of all time" by now.

After seeing comments like this one under dozens and dozens of videos showcasing musicians from the 60s and 70s, I've come to he conclusion that saying a musician is underrated is only intended to generate thumbs up. It is certainly not accurate. None of the "underrated" musicians were underrated. They were all popular and successful.

Big Tull fan. Ian Anderson, Martin Barre were better than Keith & Mick. My opinion. Saw them in 1978 at Madison Square Garden. It was the Songs from the Wood tour. Ian after doing the title at the end were symbols crash. He came out and crash these giant symbols 😂 🎸😎

Always loved their first album, especially this song which lead off the record. Blues are where they started. Everyone got to start somewhere.
@NuntiusLegis8 ай бұрын
I learned to like the material from the first album through later, more polished live versions like this, the studio recordings sound a bit dated to me, with the exception of Cat's Squirrel. Mick Abrahams also recorded a nice live version of the album with his band. Strangely, of the early studio recordings, the stuff released on singles appeals more to me, like One For John Gee, Love Story, or A Christmas Song.

@@NuntiusLegis The production was muddy, I'll give you that. But I got an emotional connection to this album for a friend who introduced me to it, and is no longer with us.

C'ero anch'io. La cornice dei monti di Trento e una scaletta meravigliosa di oltre due ore ne ha fatto uno dei concerti dei Jethro Tull più belli di sempre. Infatti ho replicato la sera successiva a Milano.
