I appreciated the showcase of the Imperium mod and installed it right away. When I loaded into a moon, however, there were a bunch of graphical overlays, lines, and data that crowded up the screen. Is there a way to remove these? I didn't clearly see anything in the F1 menu.

Ahh right, those are settings on the F1 menu in the bottom left sections labeled Colliders / Overlays / Casting Indicators (would require new enemy spawn to see updates for some of the changes)

Feedback is obviously necessary but I wish people had a little more faith in Zeekers, like these are patches for a beta for an early access game. Being critical is normal but some get really extreme views and that because of this ONE PATCH the game is going down a terrible road it'll never recover from. Give my man some respect!

I've been saying this since the beginning, he's not bad at balancing or what have you, dude NEEDS to test stuff for the official release, people just think that the V50 Beta is just early access and it isn't, it's the testing grounds, things are broken and unbalanced on purpose, like the spikes spawning at a maximum of 26 so they are extremely common to test if they work correctly, then later on he reduced their spawns to around what he probably thinks should be official, and added some changes to them based on that first bunch, he didn't thought that there being 20 spike traps on Titan was the idea, but he's a single dude so he needs the traps to spawn more often to see players dying to them to balance them, that's why they now have a red light, don't spawn as often on main and what have you

really every concern about balancing that i’ve had with this game is kind of addressed in this patch, i still don’t like the absolute hordes of baboon hawks that are possible, and the lack of counterplay to them in solo especially, but the rest of the balancing changes help a ton

The debate with the mask hornets has got me thinking. I feel like the hornets exemplify a very strange design decision in this game that I don't really agree with. And that's how heavily you are disincentivized/punished for killing things. To me, it feels like you should generally be rewarded for bothering to spend money on a shovel, take up an inventory slot with said shovel, and then put yourself directly in the most dangerous situation possible by bringing yourself into melee range against these deadly monsters for long enough to successfully kill them. I feel like that's a lot of effort and risk, and should be incentivized rather than punished. But as it is, you instead get things like the Butler and the Power system that punish you for kills. You go out of your way to do everything necessary to take down these enemies, and then your reward is the game actively getting more difficult as a result. Instead of clearing out threats to make things more manageable, you've just given the Power system an opportunity to spawn in another, potentially stronger monster to fill the dead one's space. At best something of around the same strength spawns so you've essentially accomplished nothing, and at worst a much more dangerous threat like a Coilhead can spawn in, so you've just spent that time and effort making things actively worse for youself. This new butler enemy feels like this problem personified. "Oh, you wanted to take out this enemy so they don't sneakily stab you in the back when you're alone? SURPRISE! Have a much more aggressive, faster, unkillable enemy that spawns in _instantly_ upon its death!" Feels like the game is pushing you to interact with its items and enemies _less_ instead of more. The optimal strategy just becomes to never bother buying shovels and to avoid enemies instead of fighting them. The safer, less resource-intensive, lower skill option gets you better results than the high risk option. It just feels so backwards.

I feel the power system is a good enough deterrent against shovel usage while still being useful. I'd actually crown the Butler the king of suicide enemies, because I can't recall a game where an enemy explodes into invincible bees for the rest of the round. But seriously the Butler is boring powerful, those hornets should not be opening doors at the very least.

What if butler and mask hornets could be stunned by spray paint? 😁 That'll change the issue with them I think Being able to get away from the killer and his hornets, using their vulnerability to chemicals You could also need to use large amounts of it, so there's a risk of running out of paint. This way they won't be completely helpless, and still pose a threat

@@ptero Thats actually a really interesting usage for an item thats otherwise not really used. Trading off a shovel for paint so you can use it to get a knife is a fair exchange I feel.

The basis is that this game IS meant to KILL YOU and make you SUFFER. The Butler is meant to be dealt with like an indoor baboonhawk where you watch it with a friend close by and never get left alone with him. Yes, he has a knife which is a fun weapon, but you MUST consider the tradeoff in regards to killing him.. Thumpers, Spiders, even Nutcrackers are worthwhile to kill and the Nutcracker gives a worthwhile weapon upon death, but look at how difficult it is to kill one of those suckers. The butler's knife is a placebo weapon. it LOOKS like it is a super cool killing tool, but it's LESS effective than a shovel because you need to get closer and will 95% get hit.

@@legionbeast Making you stick with your teammates to be safe is a bad design choice for a horror game tho That's the problem I have with butler, it's both too annoying to deal with and too punishing to get rid of I don't care about the knife also, it's not a good weapon and it doesn't have value, at some point killing them butlers would be just worthless

A lot of the new enemies seem to be based on mods and concepts -old bird reminds me of the clockwork angel made by Daszombes, which is a tall man made creature that stays motionless until later, and it will emit a bright light from its head that burns every creature it sees, and will actively attack everything -tulip snakes seem to be based on Peepers, a mod critter that spawns at daytime outside, and jumps onto you to lower your speed, and multiple can latch on

There’s still great value from people showing their complaints. If nobody criticized him, he wouldn’t know that the community hated the changes. I say keep the criticism while making sure to praise him when he does something good, especially if the change comes from community feedback.

i think a good hornet change would be, 1. They can’t open doors. And 2. They lose track of you when you round a corner ( debatable ). They should be more of a hazard than a real threat i think

Could always just have them stay localized to the body of the butler instead, i think it could balance it pretty well if they can't chase you around the entire facility

The Snakes arent annoying, they actually helped me out a lot! the only time whem they are annoying is they dont get off you for very long and follow you into the facility

Don't they act as a one-time shield against certain enemies? Or at least Thumper for inside enemies. Why wouldn't you want a little floppy goober to keep you company in the dark

@Cat_Joseph This is what happened to me: I ran into the facility at some point with a goober on me with a dead player spectating me. There was a thumper inside, and i could hear it, but I never saw it. By the time I left the facility, my goober had mysteriously disappeared. When the day had ended, the dead player had respawned and said "the thumper ate it" Very anecdotal, but I really doubt the other player just assumed the thumper ate it without seeing *something* happen This may or may not be related to the feature where baboon hawks will kill the goober on your head when they intend to attack you, instead of damaging you.

@@joshy541 maybe they don't tank it but the snek just got off, then the thumper ate it. They don't stay on you forever, they get bored I guess, and the spectator might have seen it getting of and then getting eaten

Bro if bees are going to be indoors (and they probably shouldn't be) then they HAVE to be killable. You can't be having bees inside AND have them be invincible. Even if its a deterrent to stop people from killing the Butler (for whatever reason) they still need to have a way to be dealt with, even if it's difficult. Or just give them a timer where they'll despawn after a certain amount of time.

I don't know if the solution to the mask hornets is making them killable (at least not with current weapons). That's a bit boring, not to mention far-fetched, unless your employee is supposed to be like this anime character guy who can slice and dice a whole swarm of them with a kitchen knife samurai move as they're buzzing about midair. And if you're gonna do that, you might as well make the circuit bees killable also. Otherwise, you have two very similar enemies with confusingly inconsistent game mechanics to newbies or players who don't stalk the patch notes so are left more unaware. Me personally, I still stand by the solution of making them able to be locked behind doors but unkillable, similar to how the circuit bees can be locked outside the ship but are unkillable. Not attacking you, just giving my two cents.

for the rend and dine changes the og v50 changed how big mansions were so the 1.8x size just made them their v49 size

I, for one, was one of the rare people who actually appreciated the jetpack being more stable and controllable. Perhaps we could have some sort of compromise, and have two different kinds of jetpacks for sale, like the two flashlights? A regular jetpack with better control like I and seemingly Zeekers wanted, and then something like a "Jetpack Turbo" for all you guys who like to go FAST. That being said, even I thought the previous version was a little _too_ slow. Perhaps an acceleration of 3 or 4 would be perfect for the more stable jetpack.

this fixes most of the problems made in v50! was worried after so many bad patches but looks like this update will be pretty decent now. still a bit concerned for the slope changes but thats only one issue personally now, very nice!

The snakes are super helpful and thats probally why they got their spawns reduced if you know how to controll them its basically a free jetpack from what i played i was able to carry a really large amount and still float over artifices gap.

Zeekerss has already expressed interest in increasing the speed of going uphill. Not back to what it was before version 50, but to make it faster than what it is right now.

@@chessking-bb6nf I don't know, I feel like it doesn't matter for most stuff like going to the facility and bringing back loot and how you deal with most threats But I feel like it just breaks the whole bee hive gathering; you just go so fast you'll actually lose them. Heck, maybe you can even outrun dogs on some maps now, I'd have to try. It also just feels bad on stairs overall. I'd just keep the slope speed thing but make an exception for stairs perhaps? Dunno, feels bad to implement on Unity And as he said on his Patreon post, you feel the speed nerf harder than the speed buff. Even tho I wouldn't be surprised if he messed up his math and/or physic's logic: stuff like an increase in speed of 20% means it takes 16.7% less time to get somewhere but a decrease in speed of 20% means it takes 25% more times to get somewhere. Which is literally feeling the nerf harder than the buff in this regard. (And that's purely mathematical, I'm entirely skipping the physics) It just feels like it adds more issues than actual meaningful features to be honest But if he's able to get around the above points, most welcome feature for me Right now I'm just sad for the shovel nerf more than anything lol

Wow that was fast. Pretty great changes all around. Idk about you guys but I kind of liked the value of nut being split between the gun and the shells. That’s just a small nitpick, though.

Personally I wonder if shotguns not having value is actually the better move here, dropped loot having value makes the meta forever stranded at staying every moon until almost midnight

He also seems to have fixed the fact that Adamance flooded weather didn’t work, before the water would never rise at a point where it slows your movement, even at the lowest parts of the map, now it rises, starting quite high and stoping anyone form passing through the valley. I tested this a 1h ago.

actually, I tested it and it seems like you can't explode from overheating with the jetpack anymore and apparently (according to what I read from someone on Bread's discord) that was a bug to do with colliding with triggers at high speed (I believe a comparison would be that triggers are kind of like Minecraft chunks), invisible collision boxes around the map that just define different areas

The snakes aren't bad at all, they don't really overwhelm a player unless they stand completely still, and they'll just tend to give up and leave if they can't lift a player. Honestly surprised how balanced they feel right out the gate.

For imperium, how do you disable the freecam and teleport features? Because whenever use t and f when I type a command it would always activate in the and gets in the way

Maybe it's a conflict with another mod or something, but I cannot get that imperium mod to work. I use the controls listed on the thunderstore page, but nothing happens when I do. Probably not the place to ask something of the sort, but I can't ever get an answer from the Lethal Company Discord for any of my questions. Anyways, I'd like to use the mod for testing things for my pack, but can't seem to get it working and I have no clue why.

The jetpack changes seemed completely broken, and if it's getting reverted in 2 days then I think it's fair to say it was probably unintentional. Let's Get Gaming. P. S. (edit: Rend and Dine have same size, these values are the new equivalent of v49. They are effectively unchanged which is great!) I think it's obvious going by community feedback (from where I sit) that the uphill slower movement mechanic will be tweaked before/for final build. It's just a bit too much trudgery.

As I've said before, I respect Zeekerss a lot, And genuinely love his gamer-sense, I suppose in my previous comment about the Jetpack change I was a bit too critical though. The problem stems from the fact that I've never played in Beta/Been a Beta-tester before, It's quite an interesting experience playing things that are meant to be broken, Crazy stuff. Really love what he did to the Jetpack though, Reverted it's insane Acceleration nerf, While kept it's crazy mobility for steering, I don't think there's a single person who plays Lethal Company now, That would have issues using it lol. With how crazy good he made it though, I kind of hope he increases the price for it, Maybe to 900 or something, Because it's like a S+ Tier item now, Somehow even better then it already was, And to compensate I think it's price should go up a bit xD "Still waiting for an Item you can buy that helps you carry 2-handers though, The fabled Wheel-barrel still comes to mind, Plop like 3-4 2-handers in that and then slowly bring it back to the Ship :P"

That's a qol change more than anything, you would have to check shotgun value before you brought one in before which was a bit tedious (as you would want to risk low value ones first)

Imperium mod wasn't working for me when I tried it yesterday, does it conflict with other mods that I have enabled? Actually so far V50 beta seems to have broken a lot of my mods. When I tried Imperium with all my mods on the same profile, it didn't work at all, I made a profile just for it and only installed a few mods, and it worked. Also, when are they going to nerf the spider speed back to v49? it's hard to kill the bunker spiders now.

I’m very torn because I agreed with Zeekers in the fact that the jetpack DID need to be slightly nerfed. I’m either just a naturally good pilot or a strong believer that everyone was kind of over exaggerating how hard the jetpack was to fly. The Jetpack is such a powerful mobility tool it almost negates all risk from getting back and forth to ship. However, after the massive buffs, I was left confused why the jetpack would still be 700c when it was practically nerfed into the ground. I think the Jetpack should either be cheaper and shitty, or more expensive and how it initially was programed.

Jetpack got hard nerfed and then nicely buffed kinda strange. Knives having trouble killing nutcrackers seems strange, does it really need the 2.5 speed to actually be able to kill it? More interesting though, seems more balanced as a way to kill the nutcracker now tbh. I still think Zeekers should make it so the butler bees / hornets should dissapear after an amount of time (I'd say 1 in game hour but that could be too little), since them being negatively impacted from not being inside the butler gives them a valid reason to attack you.

I still feel very mixed about the hornets. I feel like they should be decently strong, but they either need to killable, not be able to open doors, etc. Or maybe make the knife make butlers not release flies on death, so you can make the choice of killing one or two to get the tool to deal with them easier in the future at the cost of dealing with the initial hornets. As of now killing the Butler really sucks.

the mask hornets are so sick, they make sense to me since it seems like theyre trying to let the butler impact the overall meta a bit less than the nutcracker did. you're actively punished for killing one, you have to strategize around it, and then it's debatable how good the weapon you get even is (but it still has a sell value, so it's still optimal to kill them rather than not)

I wouldn't be surprised if the indoor bees are more a test of player tolerance levels through a more interesting way than proposing it via a poll or something, if they harassed a player for about 80 damage but then see despawned that might be better design wise, could make the damage be kept track of by the bees so they can only do 80 damage total regardless of who touches them or make them more of an annoyance that affects inputs with micro stuns or something, they're an interesting idea that could be toyed with in some interesting ways :v

only remaining complaint is that mechs take over to much which is why he should make them killable, and limit how many can be on a stage at once. now mind you they shouldent be easy to kill, but i think that forest giants and dogs really aughta have some CHANCE right?

I think the mask hornets help the butlers design, let's be honest, the butler is extremely easy to kill. I think it needs a reason for players to think twice before killing them, so I think the purpose of the mask hornets are for you not to encounter them at all.

Really hoping Zeekers adds a lot of new scrap soon. The novelty of the useable scrap we have (air horns and such) have worn off a lot since there’s been essentially NOTHING new to find and mess with.

Hornets, and hygroderes should not be able to open doors IMO. Coilheads would also make sense, since he got no arms but that'd just be too big of a nerf. I think monsters like Jester, Thumper and Ghost girl should be able to just slam through and break the door lmao. That would be funny.

I mean, hornets could slip under the door so I wouldn't think that'd be much of a realism stopper. Also, these were hornets piloting a person. They probably know what they need to do to get through a door.

no one can figure out what kills you now, it seems to be collision whilst thrusting too long, not JUST thrusting too long, but the game has confusing geometry, sometimes you can literally collide with yourself, this used to happen as soon as you thrusted for just 7 seconds two patches ago
