2:00 one thing to note is that giant's corpses can fall on top of you and kill you, even if you're in the ship. had that happen to me when i was anklestabbing 2 of them on dine. be wary of the hitbox

I don't get why butler wasps can open doors. I assume enemies like Thumper and Coilhead force the flimsy doors open, but how are wasps doing it? Would be interesting counterplay to do things like trapping it in a locker room.

That discrepancy on the knife animation and hit registration seems like a coding oversight I'm hoping to get fixed soon, cause if it's deliberate, it's just adding unnecessary input micromanagement fluff that just hampers players for non obvious and absolutely unfun reason.

I mean, it makes the knife harder to use and more interesting. And do remember, this game is meant to be hard, you aren't supposed to understand things first time, you are meant to make mistakes and learn

More DPS in exchange for riskier method, sticking your face up the enemy's head. I still prefer the shovel for consistency and range, but knife can be an alternative if situation is dire.

Ohhh you're supposed to SCAN to find your weapon when a snare flea jumps on you!? I usually panic and wander around frantically trying to find it... I was really wondering how people did it so easily.

Doesn't work for shovels though. They don't show up when you scan, but items with value such as the stop sign and knife do show up. The knife technically has no value but it's still classified as an item, unlike equipment that are bought.

Can anyone verify if yelling at baboon hawks works now? Me and a friend were messing around and got mauled to death by just 1 of them and I thought they weren’t supposed to be super hostile if there wasn’t a group. Same play session, same planet, multiple times after that I started charging at groups of 4+ while talking at them and they all ran away. Could just be random chance but I did that every time we encountered them after that and they never even attacked me once.

The knife has lower damage but has high dps, whereas the shovel has moderate dmg but slow, so overall the knife is great for high and very low health monsters like giants, dogs, bugs, etc. but the shovel is still a decent early game weapon since it takes around the same time to kill bugs. The downside of the knife is its range, its riskier to kill a thumper or a spider with a knife but safer to kill with a shovel, and the knife is faster of taking out targets like the nutcracker and giant monsters whereas the shovel is decent for taking out hoarders, huggers, and medium sized monsters (thumper, spider, and braken)

@@crocodile5902 Shovel and knife do the same damage per hit, I don't think there's any lower it can go than shovel since shovel already does 1 damage and health isn't a decimal value. It's just that knife is faster/lower cooldown but shorter range.

i think zeekerss did another shadow update to the beta branch this morning. there are spike traps in the ceiling on adamance factory, idk about the other moons. it makes a loud clank noise so you can hear it from quite a distance before you get close to it

using an auto clicker sounds so unfun. what if they changed the atack cooldown to random numbers each stab and it would indicate with a sound when next atack is ready so you listen to sound clue before every stab to be effective

I don't see how the knife is useful though. I would take a shovel instead of it probably in every situation that's going to happen in the game. Even against nutcrackers shovel is not far behind, but it's far superior against most other enemies. And also... there is a shotgun in this game. And it's also dropped by an enemy (and nuts are not that hard to kill ngl). So why would I EVER use a knife?

I wish coil heads were destructible. Too powerful if you play solo. I wish that they can give it like 5 times the hp of a giant and also explode like a landmine upon being killed releasing radiation everywhere. Btw good knife guide

Coil heads already have the biggest weakness out of every monster in the game and people want to make them killable at that... Just use doors on them, or if you're in mansion then use stun grenades

butlers popping into bees feels unnecessary tbh, and kind of a lazy addon to what would be an otherwise interesting enemy. If he really didn't want people killing them all the time something else would have been better

Nah it’s perfect. The hornets really make it so you can kill it and get its weapon but make sure that it’s at the end. Plus the butler is very easy to counter as all you need to do is stick with someone else and he is as deadly as a manticoil
