I adore my wood grip Frixon pen, but I need to replace the frixon refills with gel refills or something. I use frixon pens for post it notes and the like, but I really want to use that pen body for longer writing and have at times even though I don't want it in frixon ink.

as an indian we have bullshit stretchy plastic pieces for grips, these local brands suck as hell and japanese pens cost like 50-60$ per pen because of shipping.

I personally like Indian stationary. Especially camel and cello. They are constantly making them better and better with time. Also I love Japanese and German stationary.

I use and love silicon and firm grips. Like on the pilot frixion pens and firm grips like on wooden pencils and fountain pens like Parker pens and stuff.

My list of tried and true grips: - Uni Alpha Gel is my all time favorite, love the cushion and the smooth texture. - Pilot Dr. Grip was the pen responsible for starting my stationery addiction when I was only 10 years old. Tried and true perfection. - Air cushions of all kinds. - Lastly, but not least, for those who, like me, like the feeling of pencil without wanting a pencil, try Ohto mechanical pencils with 2.0 lead. They're thick, they're wooden, and they're reliable workhorses.

I'm allergic to silicon. There aren't many of us but if you avoid grip pens because you're allergic and not sure, I've used medical tape (I like paper tape the best) to cover the grip part and have no problem using the pen like this. The tape can be changed if it becomes dirty.

It's also great for anyone that writes and/or draws a lot in general, because it can help keep carpal tunnel at a minimum (at least from my experience).

Look, I don't have a death grip, but I use Uni AlphaGel pens and mechanical pencils, because of how painful it gets to write and draw for hours. And as a person who works with those for six to ten hours, sometimes even twelve, every day, having such comfort is super important.

I don't see how ink stains on cork could be "unfortunate". It's a feature, not a bug. Also I really love knurled grips, they are nice to rub my thumbnail on when I need to stim.

My physical therapist says to hold a small (like 1 inch across) ball in your ring and pinky fingers against your palm. It makes your mind focus on the ball instead of the pen, so your hand doesn't grip so hard. Also the reeealllyy large pens for "old people" helps.

Picked up some Triplus Fineliners a while back and was surprised at how much I liked the triangular grip. On another note...it looks like I'll be adding the Pentel Calme, FriXion Ball Wood and Pentel Orenz to my expanding list of 'don't need, just really want it' JetPen items.

I've used Alpha Gel so much in the past that when I tried the Dr. Grip, I was so surprised! It helped deter my fingers from clamping on the grip section so much as opposed to the Alpha Gel that only softened the force and even made me want to squeeze the pen/pencil. I love both of them though. They're both really ergonomic!

@danielleanderson6371I use the regular Dr. Grip Pen. I have a lateral grip so I use the Alpha Gel more TBH. But when I'm not rushing, I use the Dr. Grip to remind my hand I don't need to squeeze too much. I haven't tried the one with weights though.

(thank you also for the cleaning tips for some of these!) i always love seeing the outtakes at the end! And dangg that cool line was made on the fly! Thank you again for everyone's hard work for this video ^^

I tend to hold my pens/pencils really tightly when I write, so I really like the squishy silicone grips. Knurled grips are actually really uncomfortable for me, because as I write, the texture digs itself into my fingertips from how tightly I grip.

I love the TWSBI fountain pens as well, the triangle grip isn't as pronounced as the LAMY but it's enough to keep my hand in the proper position and there's far less hand fatigue than when I'm using a round grip. Thanks for all the suggestions, Another excellent video!

I'm okay with most types of grips, but I can't stand the knurled or finely ridged grips. When my finger brushes over them it gives me the same kind of feeling as fingernails down a chalkboard. I got some Derwent pencil extenders, and I had to cover the knurled sections with a layer of masking tape in order to use them. It's just my bad luck they're the only extenders that work on Polychromos colored pencils. 😬

I've never liked cushioned or rubber grips. They don't last for me at all. I fidget, so I'll end up pulling the grip off and stretching or tearing it. I also do manual work, so any grease or residue on my hands ruins the grips. I much prefer a solid metal grip, there's something reassuring about the cool feel of a metal tube. And if harder to break.

What if I love pilot juice but it’s too narrow for long periods of writing? The barrel on the Frixion multi is more comfy but I’m not a huge fan of the ink. Is there a good aftermarket add on cushion?

Although I write with a light touch tripod grip, I don't really like the engrave grip on fountain pens since I usually hold pens a bit higher since my fingers are rather long and slender. I'd prefer a cushioned grip that fountan pens don't usually have, so at least a large rounded grip like the Platinum Preppy is more comfortable. My writing pressure was so light that when I first use the Uni Kuru toga pipeslide, I had to put in extra force to make sure the lead rotate. 😅 And since I used to draw as a hobby, my grip could be more flexible than for just writing so a well- defined engragved grip is a bit to restricting and uncomfortable for various grip types.

What pencil case would you recommend for carrying around 10-12 pens (all on the thicker side), white-out tape, a highlighter, two pencils, lead, eraser, and a TI-84? And do you know of any good, durable 1 inch and 2 inch binders? Hopefully ring split resistant (for when you drop a binder)
