As the starter, Zac is 5-2. What is Mike White as the starter - this season? When you pick someone as the overall 2nd pick of the draft - you back him up. However, Zac made a stupid comment in the locker room - he needs to fix that. But to push him to not even dress for the games? What the crap - poor coaching. The Jets will be lucky if they can now salvage Zach Wilson, if not, they need to trade him and let him go elsewhere. Here's a novel concept. Why not give Mike White the nod for the rest of the season. Give White the confidence and commitment that a team gives to their best player in any given position. Call White the starting quarterback, give Wilson an opportunity to "reset" and watch from the sideline for the remainder of the season. Wilson can learn from both Flacco and White about preparation, technique, and being a team player.

Are some QBs too young for the pros even after college? We have seen it before. Can Zach grow into the pro game given time? That's a big unknown. But when the HC sits the 1st round pick QB and makes him #3, it probably has to do with something more than has he learned the playbook.

Coachabilty, matureness comes to mind when dealing with young QBs. That is why talented players like Baker Mayfield and Zach Wilson goes bad. You can only cover it up for so long. May be it's a change of scenery but unless Zach takes ownership of his own bad play, who will? He looks to have taken bad habits, from his foot work, lazy throws, inaccurate throws. Whose fault is it? Entitlement, draft position can only go so far. That is why other people want to play for you. Coaches to their players, QBs to their WRs, OL, etc. CEOs to their employees, employees to the janitors, etc.

As long as he plays well, the full playbook is open as it is, the team loves him. They had some bad play calls in the Redzone last week and the defense in the first half started slow. It’s a team game and hard to win when the team doesn’t believe in Wilson as they don’t.

If the Jets miss the playoffs it certainly won't be "because" of Mike White. They refused to bench Wilson in the 2 Patriot games where he was awful, and they should have come back and won against the Vikings if not for a dropped TD pass by Berrios and their terrible redzone playcalling earlier in the game. A "bad" game from Mike White is like a pretty solid game for Zach Wilson so far in their careers... it takes Zach like 2-1/2 games to put together 300+ yards passing; Mike White just did it in back to back starts, and he's the first Jets QB to throw for 400+ yards in a game since Vinny Testaverde way back in 2000. That's how awful the Jets QB play has been for the last 2 decades!

Typical Jets team and fans. You pull Zak after a year and a half. Wow. White isn't very athletic at all. once those short passes are practiced by the rival team . That will be the Bills. Wilsons life was pulled from him. shame. Jets should had gotten Mike McCarthy instead of Gase. McCarthy coached Favre and Rogers. Regardless of Rogers fights with him overall Rogers best years were with McCarthy. A year and a half and bench your QB. Miami and Bills will always be the better team going froward.

1st an goal from less then 1 yard out and you can't punch it in very sad. Very disappointed with the play calling in that situation. I no longer have any hope for Zac as a starter. I like Saleh but he should name White the starter for the rest of the year so he is not looking over his shoulder after every incompletion. I've been a Jets fan since the last year they were the Titans. I'm waiting a longgggggggggg time for another Super Bowl appearance.

Did you see Garrett Wilson’s comments about Mike White? The Jets would be foolish to move off Mike White this season. Unless he totally bombs or gets injured, he should be the guy going forward. As Rich said, no sacred cows. Just because Zach was the number two pick doesn’t mean that he HAS to return as the starter. The NFL is (and should be) the ultimate meritocracy. And as it stands now, no one can objectively say that Mike White should be benched for Zach.
