I think it's a little bit of everything but mostly Rodgers making slight (positive) adjustments in going to a new team that (Really, Really,...) wanted him. He'd been a stubborn fool not to and I never thought he was either. GB was right to draft Love (when he was available), for they saw his skills were similar to Farve and Rodgers(especially) they just handled it wrong with Rodgers.

Zach Wilson can make every single throw. He’s one of the most talented prospect we’ve ever seen as far as throwing. He had no veterans back up quarterback, a rookie head coach, and a rookie coordinator. He lost his starting tackles, and he’s running back, blew his knee out… He only played one year of college, I wonder why he had such a hard time ? He has looked completely refreshed thanks to Aaron Rodger, and Nathaniel Hackett help. And I don’t wanna hear about it being preseason. Zacks Wilson’s problem was processing and decision making and getting his growing mechanics down. In appeared rowing competition he will be 99% of the quarterbacks in the league right now.

I love how nobody seemed to notice that we had the most injured offensive line since 2001 of any team last year -- that stat has only been measurable since 2001, so it could be in the all-time conversation. "Their running backs just lost it." "They fell apart down the stretch" "Zach ain't the guy" etc., and I kept thinking, "umm... you know those huge guys in front of the quarterback aren't lawn ornaments. The Jets are starting with an upgrade of what they brought into the regular season last year, before losing everyone but Connor McGovern, and their backups. (Technically we didn't lose Laken Tomlinson, but his daughter died in late August, and he went from being a probowler the year before to just forgetting how to play football).

Brockman is, as always, a bitter little man. I think Rodger's new attitude is more akin to someone who was initially in a great relationship, but then things got ugly and were ugly for several years, and then they free themselves of it and find someone new. If you've been in a relationship like that, you can relate. Add to that fact that the old relationship was with a boring woman from the midwest, and the new relationship is with a Victoria Secrets model from New York City.

The jets are in a tough spot. They have a good team, but the AFC is so stacked. There are seven playoff spots, so let's see who can make it Chiefs Bengals Ravens Bills Dolphins Chargers Jets Steelers Jaguars. That's 9. Plus which division will have three, if any? And the Jags whoever come out of the AFC South are guaranteed a spot. There are going to be good teams that don't get to the dance this year. Injuries of course, but I'd feel a lot better about the Jets if they are in the NFC.

"the playoffs"? When was the last time the Jets were in "the playoffs"? If Rogers gets them in "the playoffs" it will be a heckuva step up from the futility of the last few decades.

@@baronvonnembles Thanks for the Bill Mora impression, because we're still not sick of hearing it every time there was a Coors Lite ad during a football game. Also, LOL @ "few decades". You lost count at one again. Go to the nice man in the white coat with the syringe. It's got candy in it.

Some people here are tired of all the Jets talk. I get that. But as a fan of 20+ teams in the NFL and there are so many sorry assed opinionated sports shows, the Jets off season is entertaining and Rich and the gang make it fun . Season starts soon and all bets will be off. They do spread it around for all the other teams and the Jets by and large are up front in the show.

As a Dolphins fan I hope Rodgers and the Jets are a dumpster fire for the next couple seasons. Reality is they will probably be good. How good is yet to be determined. You never know how things will work out when you bring in a veteran QB. We've seen this story over and over. The team brings in a high-profile player through trade or free agency. Expectations are high and then reality sets in when you realize that football is a team sport and one player can't always get the team over the hump. We shall see.

I've watched the Jets for 30+ years from England - always had a sweet spot for them, hoping they'd put a team together......the history, the underdog thing (which we love this side of the pond).....but Rich Eisen is already winding me up and the season hasn't even started! Stop crowing about Rodgers, and sitting there like they've won the Superbowl, for crying out loud!

Eric Mangini was a way better coach than Saleh. He just got saddled with a HOF qb that forced him to win playoff games or he would lose his job, even though Favre got hurt. Then he ticked off the owner. If the Jets OL performs, it will be a playoff run this year. If not, it will be a repeat of "how stupid am I to think that the Jets are not cursed!" But it is about making proper organizational decisions. HK is not a good decision, and drafting only 1 offensive lineman a year is also stupid.
@jessejordache1869
@jessejordache1869 10 ай бұрын
Two offensive linemen, and HK's deal is with the league: you can't get out of it unless conditions x, y, & z are met, and the Jets didn't qualify. But I agree about Mangini -- like, that wouldn't have been the first thing I thought of in the "upgrade" category. I don't know how good Saleh is at this point -- nobody does. Year one, rookie everything. Year two is a lab experiment for how many games you can win with your guards and tackles literally being assembled out of the training squad of the Texans: nobody prepares for injuries to wipe out a unit like that, and if they do, it's a misuse of resources. Now it's year three.

I was watching the rerun of the GB Chicago Championship game in 2010 and how the defense really saved Rodgers' bacon. Raji picking off that pass. Of course the Packers had some luck with Caleb Hanie QBing in the second half for Chicago. But you're only as good as your offensive line. We'll see if the Jets have one.
