Awesome ! Very well done. You did a great job of telling the story while still making it really exciting. I think my ears are still ringing from the noise and excitement !! After editing my video, watching this footage over and over and thinking about it more, I think that it seems like a fuel starvation issue that is holding it back. After we did the pipe repair, head gasket replacement and adjustments, it would rip hard for a few seconds and then the power would taper off (seemingly) At first I thought this may have to do with the new smaller stingers, but when I was playing with the choke, it would pull really hard momentarily after turning the choke off. I honestly don't know a lot about pumper carbs, but this would not be a jetting issue. It may be pop off pressure being too high or something to do with the return line restrictor ... I have read that if you have a highly tuned engine it can be necessary to lower pop off pressure. I think Jacob knows more about this than I do.

Yes, that should have been done from the beginning, unfortunately, the pipes are now welded at the exhaust flanges and are rigid... originally (and on all snowmobiles) there is some sort of joint to allow them to move at the flange and muffler. The springs allow them to settle into place and to move without cracking. These are solid mounted at the cylinders and so they will continue to crack.

He fixed the pipe bend ! Legend ‘ sounds unreal ! It’s really important to have good lord mounts on each pipe at least two per pipe on the Factory pipes plus the silicone pipes to the water box help dampen the vibrations too . It’s insane how fast it is with the stock CDI !

The reason it’s leaning out on the rear piston is because there’s a leak between the two crankshaft seals behind the pto . Yamaha made a cross over port for some reason that must be epoxied up so both seals hold up, otherwise it will suck air in past the outer seal and lean out. It’s especially bad with triple pipes . They suck mixture so much harder. It’s also the reason why so many GP1200R ‘ and 1300’s blow up cylinders. Group K Harry Klemm made a post about it a few years ago with photos. I think a V6 Yamaha 200 outboard or Merc 200-250 would be cool in this laid horizontal and make a intake to get carbs on it in right orientation The crank might even mate right up to the pwc pump same style and size but dont know about splines and dont know how would rig exhaust.

I SEE WHERE YOU COULD REALLY UTILIZE A MUCH GREATER PITCH ON THAT IMPELLER. COULD YOU IMAGINE A MOTORCYCLE ENGINE IN THAT LIKE A BUSA, WITH THE TRANSMISSION BEING USED AS WELL. I’d say it’s straight pipe because that’s the easiest thing to do. No need for a water box if the exhaust is exiting above the waterline. They could put a silencer on each pipe though

@@micahhittinger6083 You are correct about this just being the easiest way. Once the exhaust is sorted out (no longer cracking) then I believe Josh plans to put some sort of muffler on it. As of now the pipes are moving around too much and keep cracking. This was an experiment to see how much difference a set of pipes would make... now it needs some refinement. Strait pipe also sounds insane ... so that one reason to go that way, haha. It is a bit much when you try to ride it though.
