Just bought a 2019 Jetta SE. I am coming from a 2007 BMW with the professional audio system. That car sounded great, but it was at 208,000 miles and I needed something new. Enter the fuel efficient Jetta with the terrible sound system. This Kicker amplifier is perfect! Do you need to use the built in auto setup, or is there a way to set the EQ bands manually? Have you ever confirmed the results of the auto setup with a measurement mic and spectrum analyzer? I would like to know how effective the algorithm is at tuning the bands and what the target curve actually is. It seems you can disable the EQ curve and achieve a flat response with a DIP switch. I use REW and a miniDSP UMIK-1 mic for my home system so I am familiar with the process. This Kicker amp with some new speakers should really help the sound quality of the Jetta.

There is no option to manually tune. That is reserved for amplifiers that are at least double the price. At this price point it's more about improving the sound in the car. The conversation you are having usually starts with 3K plus audio systems. But I can tell you everyone is quite happy with the setup. We paire them with kicker KS speakers and its a day and night improvement. We did the installation of the speakers at the same time as the amp install I just have to give the video a watch before posting.

Hello, with this amplifier and connections/configuration, you do not lose the sounds (chimes) of the reverse sensors in the different speakers, as well as the volume decrease in navigation, etc.?

Nope it just amplifies everything. I think the parking sensors and chimes are built into the car anyway.

Does the Kicker amp, correct the bass roll off, from the factory head unit?

The amplifier does not keep the volume from maxing out at 60%. . But at that volume, it will sound twice as loud. At about 60%, the radio stops increasing the signal. Without reprogramming the radio, I am unable to alter that. I’ve heard it referred to as “bass roll off,” but I’m not sure if that’s accurate. I do know that once this amplifier has been installed, those two complaints are no longer present.

@ I just ordered a kit, we’ll give her a go. Funny, I’ve been working at DHL in Moonachie, for the past 2.5 months, just finished Tuesday. Had I known your shop was so close, I would have stopped in to purchase. Unfortunately, I’m back home in PA for a while. Once received and installed, I’ll try to give some good feedback. To be honest, if I had known the factory radio sucked so bad, I probably wouldn’t have purchased the car!😜. But, for almost 40 mpg, I don’t want to complain too much. 👌 ~Cheers~ 🍻

Can I run a subwoofer from the provided harness or would I have to splice into a rear speaker ?

You can just tap into the rear speaker wires on this harness.

I need to tap my head unit from wire from my sub to the wire harness do I use the black and yellow wires for the power

I have been making no sense sorry, I have power now to my amp, no music is playing from sub. I am using a Rockville 10inch sub. Do I absolutely need an loc to convert the output levels

​@@ev8n718 It really depends on the amp. I recommend you take it to a local installer. Unfortunately I cant troubleshoot something that wasn't purchased from us.
