Good review thanks. I think DJI is still the best option,n. I like the fact that you have full control on the device itself... I think the connection with the computer is the simplest one, no need for an application, those two factors are key for me.

Bro... At 11:22 When the ZVE1 overheated... My guy just Did review points for not only 3 mic systems, but also a camera system without even trying... 😂 Thanks for keeping that in there. That shows the genuineness of yourself and your channel... That being said... All 3 system's are amazing... The Sony seemed alot more loud in my opinion... But I also heard clipping in a couple parts of the video... Plus I Use Sony Cameras and that Hotshoe would come in Clutch. The DJI is also amazing and I love the touch screen feature, but Not having all the accessories is a bummer. The Rode seems to have almost everything and that 32-bit... OMG Yess.. except, No Sony camera compatibility, and no Touchscreen, (idk about this feature yet) plus its HUGE compared to the Sony/DJI. (And I h8 the size its distracting, especially in a interview or short film setting, if you arent using a boom stand etc.) Overall a really difficult decision... Ughhhh

I bought the DJI and loved them but the Rode offers more! I am wondering if you think dji will release an update? I am SO confident that if dji offered a 32 bit float version, I would prefer the usability of the DJI (no necessary apps, smaller tx, slimmer case, etc.) If I buy the rode and then DJI releases an update...I'll be so pissed. I sold my 3 DJIs and bought 2 Rodes. The locking mechanism on the mics, and the 32 bit float recording are enough to justify letting go of the smaller form factor and the better user interface. I had a couple of shoots where the mic slightly pulled out of the DJI transmitter so from time to time, the sound would just have these hard scratch noises that could not be cleaned up. (these were both in the camera audio and the internal recording, so no way to fix it) And I've also had projects where the sound clipped on the DJI. With the Rode, I have not experienced either of these issues. It's bulkier, but still way smaller than my Sennheiser G3 systems. Also, the Rode had 40hrs of internal recording to the DJIs 15hrs. This means, when I have a 4 day shoot, I don't even have to delete the internal audio from the Rode systems. Of course I copy them at night, but the internal recording serves as yet another backup. Only thing that can be improved on the Rode is the timecode implementation, from being able to jam sync to an external device or to multiple rode systems, so how the timecode cannot be exported only via USB while L/R 1/8" jack output Trans1 and Trans2. Other than that, perhaps making them slightly smaller and getting rid of that horrible glossy finish which doesn't allow you to stick anything to it and it reflects light. And these things could be perfect.

One of the good things in life is that people have different opinions. I think, for example, that people who shoot video without headphones to monitor the audio shoot be fired. I never used back up recording and never came back from a shooting without audio. Back up recording to cards didn't exist until recently if I am not mistaken and the world of cinema and TV broadcast did very well without it.
@Bo_Hazem
@Bo_Hazem Жыл бұрын
@@umbertoaguiar That's legit as well, but when you're costing the same while not offering internal 24-bit or even 24-bit directly to the video file then why cost the same? And yes sometimes you film someone that you can't just do again, but of course monitoring when you have a crew is essential that's why I always have a pair of headphones in my backpack.

the frequency of one's voice can also play into how one sounds in the mics. your voice sounded best with sony and had pleasing low ends while it sounded most abrasive in the rode mic. i think the best compromise which wasn't discussed is a godox mic which also can fit in the hotshoe of sony cameras, has onboard memory card recording, and a battery life of over 12 hours, can you do a comparison with these mics please?

If you're feeding it in to a camera with a receiver, then the audio will be there already. If you're using two cameras, you'll have to sync the cameras with the timecode or the waveform. If you're just recording internally then overlaying on the video, you can sync with the timecode or waveform.

I use the Sony W3 for my FX3. Sony's FX3 is terrible with wireless dual mics when plug directly into the camera. There is a humming sound and you cannot get rid of it. Sony doesn't seem to care to fix this issue as well. So the best option is to go with Sony's W3 wireless mics to eliminate this humming sound since we would be plugging it into the Mi hot-shoe. I also have the Rode Wireless Go II and honestly, i dont use internal recording at all. I used internal recorded twice and stop after that because it wasn't needed.

Thanks for your review. 9 min 52 sec "So why would you pick the Rode system?" The sound, of course. It was such a relief to hear the Rode sound after the Sony screeching sound ! And the longer battery life. And the lavaliere mics. As for range, internal recording etc: I don't care about those features. I especially don't care about internal recording. Actually, it baffles me. Don't people use headphones to monitor audio recording anymore? I never used back up recording. And I never came back from a shooting without audio. And I certainly don't care about DJI. I think the Godox Virso M2 would be a better system to compare with the Rode and the Sony. I have a Picogear mic. The receiver is fantastic but I am disappointed with the sound quality so I am looking for a new mic set. I was in doubt between Sony and Rode. Not anymore. The shiny surface with the big Rode name on the front is the only really negative aspect I can see. Now I will try to find a comparison between Rode and Godox which costs about half the price of the Rode.

The internal recording is HUGE. These systems are 2.4ghz which is not the same as the Professional systems that use UHF. UHF can go through obstacles much better. For example, I was recording talent doing sit-ups. The second the transmitters were blocked by the talent's body and pinned to the floor, the signal would drop. Also, if the talent is a little further from camera and they turn so their body is between the receiver (on camera) and the transmitter, there can be drops in transmission. This is where the internal recording comes in. You don't lose any audio in the internal recording inside the transmitter. So, that feature alone can save you. Another scenario that I haven't experienced is a concert/stadium or a place with a lot of wifi signals. I've heard that these systems don't do well transmitting within those kind of environments because of the heavily utilized 2.4ghz signals. But again, the internal recording would save you in these scenarios.

So. Your DJI vs Rode Wireless Pro lead to my decision to buy the Rode this week. I do not look back and hands down, this videos confirmed it once again for me. The Sony does sound a lot less refined. I could not hear a large difference between the DJI and the Rode. Thanks for helping me with my decision and also confirming my choice. ...oh and you are just about to reach 1 Million subscriber. Maybe i am wrong, but it was my understanding that the Rode system although it has a 32 bit export software function, the uadio is still only being recorded in 24 bit depth.

The new Rode Wireless Pro (featured in this comparison) does actually record 32bit float internally. (It will not transmit 32 bit to the receiver though!) The previous model (Wireless Go II) was recording on the trasmitters in 24bit, but the PC software allowed you to convert and export it into 32bit float if you needed that for compatibility or similar.

I think I’m gonna buy the Sony since I use fx30 as my main camera it does have multi function so it make sense to not use any coiled cables with 3.5mm jack
