What thickness do you recommend using to make a Bezel for life for both cab and faceted stones? Some people recommend.5mm but would that last the test of time in higher purity gold of 22-24k? I received your book today and it’s absolutely fabulous! Do you have any other books available for learners? Thanks for everything you do

Hi Jack I am working on a second book but not finished yet. :) We use 26 gauge (.45 mm) for our 22k gold for 24k I would make it thicker.

Hi Jeanette, just had a phone discussion with Alexis asking her what you did to achieve the fine grainy texture that I see at the flat bottom inside channel of this ring shank. It looks similar to casting in tufa but maybe a little finer. Would you please tell me what you do to achieve this on your 22k? Thanks, also for all of your great training vids. Eli

You are most welcome! This surface comes from the natural disruption of the surface after turning the shank 90 degrees in the mill. The force of the mill creates the curve and the texture. You can't polish that interior surface after milling or it will be lost. :)

@@JewelryArts ....OK, a challenge, going to figure this out. Wondering if I can get the fine texture that I'm after with a bead blaster at the right distance from the surface and then follow up lightly with a smooth rounded tool tip to burnish the high points for a little shine or glow. Not sure if that would stand up to wear over time but does that make sense?
