During a long period of time it was true. Unfortunately, there were attacks in Oujda and Jerada. After the independance from France, Mohammed V gave non muslim limited rights and forbid jews to move out to Israel. That is when jews had to leave given the increasing discrimination. The guardian, who was a middle-aged Muslim at the time, told me it was built when he father lived in the village. If you know the history of Oufrane/Ifrane, you will know that houses and buildings in the region were constructed of adobe, as was everywhere in Morocco's past.
