Beautiful elegant motion, so smooth. While I am appreciating all this brilliant engineering I am admiring the designer and all the operators who are willing to risk such a fast craft in a sea where much flotsam and floating wreckage can be found at the surface. I met 45 gallon tanks and also 40 foot containers floating just level with the surface of the sea. Perhaps they are equipped with forward looking " underwater radar or sonar" Whatever the difficulties, I must congratulate these people for their courage in operating such fast crafts. Brilliant engineering all the way. That craft does not need antifouling at that speed!!

Higher means able to handle a higher sea state, i.e. higher waves. Rainbow 2 looks a bit low. Maybe ok for relatively calm waters.

@Jim Watson Jetfoils use waterjet propulsion, which has a water intakes near the foils and pump water out towards the back of the ship into the air at high velocity. So they don't use props. They are reaction jets with wings that fly through the water while lifting the boat out of the water.

Furtermore, as far as my knowdeldge, the outflow of the W-jets must be as near as possible to the waterline, just below, for efficience reasons, never on air, like that craft seems do.
