When the Biafran war was fought in the 60s, Nigeria's problem was not finance but how to spend the oil money. They used Egyptian mercenaries to fly the bomber jets and British goodwill to impose a no-flight zone on Biafra. They also used middle belt people as foot soldiers. Today, Nigeria, coupled with a plethora of human rights atrocities, is too broke (money and goodwill squandered) to pull that feat. Also, the middle belt is in shambles and praying for a savior. Even the yorubas are clutching their oduduwa flags in private - the only thing holding back the yorubas is the fact that an Oduduwa man is in power.
