Train master disguised as a bum. 😂 I love mikes dry humor. What a entertaining time it would be to sit down with him and talk about trains for a few hours.

Back in the late sixties and early seventies my grand poppy used to take me and my brother to River Road above the hump yard in Allentown and we would watch the trains coupling. When we got tired of that we would dig through the piles of junk that people used to dump over the embankment above the yard and my grand poppy would build us tricycles out of the parts from bikes found on the dump pile, we never had to buy a new bike until we were teenagers and my parents could afford two wheelers.

How lucky we are that Mike and his family had the foresight to collect these images and JP is in distributing them for posterity.

I wish I'd discovered Big Mike sooner. He's like the Medieval old wise man who sat beside the fire and spins tales of the Old Warriors and how things were to the young people.

Another great chapter in Bednar history. Funny seeing Dan start out as a little kid in the earlier volumes to hanging off a boxcar working for the railroad as an adult...

Fantastic footage, especially with the Conrail E unit and the Budd SPV2000!

I love this old footage and commentary. Maybe someone could explain the NW connection here. I see a lot of footage of NW power an equipment appearing in these videos, even some of the older footage from the 60's.
@jonathanwreck8914 Жыл бұрын
The NW power was all run thru coming up from Hagerstown,Md. originating in either Roanoke Virginia or TV212 out of Atlanta,Ga.

Conrail should have kept all three E units in that blue. That was a good look.

Do all these films have live sound?
@JPMediaRR3 жыл бұрын
While some of these DVDs do have the original sound recorded on sound film, many of our programs have authentic sounds synchronized to the footage from audio sources recorded on scene
