減稅,開放市場,鼓勵不同行業的競爭性,鼓勵外國投資,改變銀行貸款制度,等等,才能增加加拿大的競爭力

技術及人才錯配除咗政府政策上配合,加拿大人本身亦有基本問題。作為回流人士,近期在轉工中。在 interview嘅時候發現加拿大人或公司十分欠缺國際視野。我有幸於三年前回流後馬上找到老本行,即會計財務。三年後轉工,見工嘅時候加拿人公司嘅HR一般祇會focus我過去三年在加拿大嘅工作經驗,而回流前響香港嘅經驗雖然都比加拿大果三年好同闊,但佢哋係完全冇興趣。佢哋仍然係好Canadian focused. 講真,比起香港,加拿大D finance祇係BB班,佢哋30分鐘嘅meeting有超過10分鐘響度吹weekend去左邊,個女March break做左D乜。香港人頭果15分鐘已經拿拿林到肉,你個女做左D乜嘢關我鬼事咩!但這個係佢地個culture,於是我哋就要學習同佢哋同化,small talk,吹水,生產力係其次,D仔女緊要D。生產力?What’s that?結果祇有Asian hiring manager先識appreciate 我響香港嘅工作經驗。有次interview,個Asian CFO向在場嘅白人HR Director講”Oh he’s from HK. HK people are very efficient ….” 點解Canada falling behind? 因為佢哋走唔出 North America.

True! 啲Canadian work experience 簡直害人,簡單來講即係保護主義,根本令到好多專業人士唔可以做返本行。冇第一份local 工點會有Canadian work experience😿

@@wanggok係呀,但係Canadian work experience 並不是你去做快餐便叫Canadian work experience. 而是我本來在香港是做data analysis, 在加拿大也要做回data analyst 才是他們才謂的Canadian work experience. 與原有專業的行業有相關。
The question is the senior government officials have any incentive to change ? Will this affect their rich supporters who elected them ? I think the answer us obvious.

移民技術被浪費主因乃是本地相關發牌嘅 self regulatory bodies 嘅問題. 加拿大面對家庭醫生短缺, 其中一主因為海外醫生執業資歷不被承認, end up 絕大部份都不能回執本業, 浪費 human capital. 呢個問題亦出現於不同專業領域. 牌面就話佢哋資格未達各省要求水平, 實在係唔想新人爭飯碗. 醫生祇是冰山一角. 其他行業就用加拿大工作經驗作擋箭牌, 實則係借口. 所以有各行專長嘅移民咪 end up 去揸 Uber 囉.
Terrance 你認為移民錯配可否透過point-system 修正減低社會成本? 又或者點解point system 已經長期運作,點解mismatch 問題仍然嚴重?

Point system 原意是好,基本上是根據當時的經濟須要而調整,當然可以改善,但不是問題刻心。錯配是因為整個移民政策,由不同級政府負責,visa 審批是屬於 federal,搞醫療是 provincial ,房屋基本是 city,還就業和教育一連串問題,而不同級政府沒有緊密的合作,各有各做,欠缺一個完整的計劃去處理移民的各種適應和須要。我認為有需要設立一個跨政府的統籌機構

"現今加拿大唯一像樣的算是加拿大大學水平" - Our R&D competitiveness is dropping very rapidly too. Just look at the Nature Index, we used to rank higher than Australia, but now they are ahead of us, and yet Canada has 1.5X the population of Australia. While both Australia and Canada are resource economies, their per cap GDP is ahead, their crime rate is lower, and their R&D is more competitive.
