In a country like Canada, changes in monetary policy are unlikely to salvage the mistakes made by fiscal and immigration policy. 身為唔同程度嘅樓奴,加息又供唔起樓,減息又上唔到車。真係艱難大。

Thanks Terence. Look forward to your upcoming topic on mortgage 🎉
I laugh or may be cry when economists keep telling us how inflation is low (2-3%) and we should be so glad. One thing they forgot to tell us is that inflation is like compound interest, it is cumulative. In the last 2 yrs, the compounded inflation is probably around 15-20%. Every time we go grocery shopping, the food price has gone up at least 20% compared to 2 yrs ago, then you add to that gas prices, restaurant prices, I am seeing at least 20-30% increase in the last 2 yrs. For people who depend on fixed incomes inclusing GICs to survivie, now they are screwed with lower interest rates, but yet they still have to pay increasing costs of living. Not good.
@@shukuist123 Bank of Canada 自己講既 A drop in Canadian interest rates may lead to a weaker Canadian dollar. Over time, this can: make the prices for imported goods and services more expensive in Canada lower the prices for Canadian-made products abroad, making them more attractive in foreign markets
