I absolutely agree with your suggestion, Haruna! In the case of Mr Suga’s tweet, it seems that some people treat the accuracy and fluency of English as the benchmark to assess how smart a person is. However I suppose that any language is intrinsically a tool to communicate with someone. I wish more and more would use English for exchanging their thoughts and ideas, not an objective to humiliate others, but... By the way, I have a topic I would like you to pick up someday if you afford to and have time. It is turn-taking. I am studying at graduate school and have many opportunities to take part in discussions with native speakers as well as international students. The difficulty is how to cut in a flow of conversations and speak out my ideas. I often miss such a chance... I guess many of the Japanese have never been taught and had any know-how for turn-taking even if they have high proficiency. If any tips, I would like to know.
