I use julienned jicama as well as julienned jalapeño and serano chiles. in my salsa fresca.. Its sweetness helps balance the heat...

The pickled jicama sounds good. Definitely going to try. I live in Michigan and was able to buy one for a recipe. Thanks for the info!

Vietnamese resturants here in Houston Tx always serve those thinly sliced and pickled along side the main dish. Delicious....

❤thank you for something new to eat, had no idea what it is. ALSO, about white vinegar; most labels I have read on their bottles if they say what the ingredients are show being made from Petroleum, some have listed made from potatoes. The only purpose I use it for is cleaning. I am a label reader. Thanks again, Matt😊

I believe the item to be a crepe maker. Last week's corn salad was a hit at the Lunch Bunch last Wednesday.

Thanks for the interesting video. I’ve only used jicama once, and that was in a salad. Here in central Texas it costs $1.24 per lb. I don’t know what that device is called. A couple guesses off the wall would be, either the top of a hanging light fixture that deflects light onto the surface rather than the whole room, or something that fits over a burner for cooking flatbreads.

Love them! They're similar to Korean Daikon, but you can COOK with them so they've got that added factor. They're REALLY good as Danmuji. In fact, they're EXCELLENT as Danmuji - give it a shot! Awesome video!

Hey that’s great to know. Thanks so much for the info on Danmuji. That’s a new term to me, but I suspect I ate it the couple times I visited South Korea. Epic food there! 🙌

We call it Sengkuang or Yam Bean in Malaysia, eat with a sauce and maybe peaunuts. Other ways, just put in soup.

That device is an upside-down crepe pan. Serious crepe aficionados use these.

Some large fruit markets in Greater Detroit carry Jicama at times. Does any one else occasionally eat a small potato with no green under the skin? Peeled and with salt it is crunchy. It's something I learned from my mom. Some people get an upset stomach from this.

Interesting. I can’t say I’ve ever eaten a raw potato.

@@IWantToCook It is mild, juicy, and starchy... and you want to chew it well. I'm not sure where mom picked it up, but she liked potatoes almost anyway she could get them. This may have been something from her childhood. Like I said before, this can cause stomach upset in some people.

Tajin is pronounced tah-heen. The "J" is an "H" just like jicama and jalapeño.😊

Still on my bucket list. I’ve been on the autobahn many times and traveled up and down Germany, but I’ve never been to that track. Maybe someday.
