The best thing about Jid getting this type of publicity is that he knows how to make hits, so many talented artist like Steve lacy are cursed with the “TikTok fans” who don’t know anything about the popular song except the chorus..jid got sleeper hits bruh I’m happy to be a fan

@@thatguymatt5816 For rap it's pretty rare to break into the mainstream at 30 years old. Look at basically every top rapper, in almost every case they're already big by their teens or early 20s. Drake, Kendrick, Wayne, keep looking most of them had already released their biggest projects by JID's age. He can do it though, he's been better than anybody else on an upward trajectory for a while now.

Even though JiD could be the one rap is looking for, for someone to lead them, I don’t think it’ll happen. I could always stand corrected and hopefully so, but I think the problem is with the hip/hop-rap fanbase that prefers Melodie’s, beats and vibes over lyricism. Rap has change so much and it’s not what it once was and we’re not going back at all sadly, those days are over, that time has come and gone and this new landscape is looking like dry bones.

Griselda popped when they was all pushing 40 and they are arguably the most influential group in the game right now. Age isn’t the problem it’s quality these guys just know how to take any sound modern or nostalgic and do the right thing with it cause they are Artist first that’s why they are huge to this day. Jid is extremely talented and is starting to get noticed, a shift in hip hop from a state of mainstream appeasement for non rap fans to a modern golden age is coming, or already happening as we speak while autotune not so good lyrically iced out super gangster leaned out trap artists who all sound the same start to exit the game. A ton of good lyrical and experimental rappers coming up.

known about jid for 3 years its weird seeing him randomly become mainstream due to tiktok, thats like the last place id expect him to blow up cause i dont really think his songs fit tik tok music, if that makes sense.

I can't bleave when JID says Eminem ain't his biggest infulence 'cause JID's flows r just so close to the Eminem's MMLP flows, lyrics and ovr all impression. It might be 'cause both of 'em flows r just so clean but idk.

He def has a bit of Em in him I feel like he don’t like the comparison because of the Eminem fanbase and a lot of rappers nowadays inspired by Em usually just end up being clones of hin

@@Will-bn9km Kendrick and Cole? Bro they has said so many times that Eminem is the biggest influences for them. U can hear the infulence with ez but u can't say they r clones lol. If u ment more modern like NF and Joyner... They r not clones ether. They have both their own styles. ( and for a record I don't lissent to NF lol)
