IMPORTANT UPDATE: This cadence's sheet music has been re-written and re-uploaded to my new publishing channel, which can be found here along with new download links:
• Jig 2 Trans/Arr: Gabe ...
*I made a mistake in the bass drum part at measure 36. Just play the same part as measure 34, I'm sorry.*
This drumline cadence has become popular across High School marching bands and drumlines due to several viral KZbin videos from a school outside of Birmingham, AL. "Jig 2" has been created over the years at Oak Mountain High School, and thanks to the band's photographer, has had several viral videos depicting the cadence's up-beat groove and signature fast Tenor Drum features. The instrumentation in this video shows the Tenor Solo played once, along with the group Tenor Soli and the Bassline Soli feature. In performance, the 1st ending should be repeated as many times as it takes for all tenor plays to have a chance to perform the solo.
-The Top line is Snare Drum
-The Second Line are Quint Tenor Drums
-The Third line is (4) Tonal Bass Drums
-The Bottom line is Cymbals
Here is the link to download the score as a .mscz:
musescore.com/...
Here is the link to download the Musescore Program (I highly recommend it. and it's free):
musescore.org/
Here is the link to a great video demonstrating the original drumline playing this written version of the cadence, including the Bass solo:
• Awesome Tenors, Snares...
Thanks for watching. Feel free to go to the links and download the score for your own band to use.

@torreywilliams6154 5 жыл бұрын
Simon Walrod 1. I read the description before I made my post 2. As long as the music works, idc about repeats. 3. You can still read the rest so I mean /shrug I really don’t feel like arguing about it Yes, it could’ve been better I guess, but in the end the sheet music works and is beneficial to anyone trying to use this piece as all the notes are properly formatted except those few bass notes that were stated in the desc. The sheet music works so.

Dillon Blake When you go to create a new score, look above the list of drop down boxes with the different types of instruments. There will be a box that says "Common instruments." Click it and select "All instruments" from the list. Once you do that, look down through the list of boxes below, one will have "Marching percussion." You must be on the latest version to have it.

@HalfHazzard
@HalfHazzard 7 жыл бұрын
stanfoo If you're having problems getting to the head of each drum to play fast enough then I recommend turning your body with your arms as you play the solo, especially playing between the 2 Low toms and the 2nd Low and 2nd High drum, turning your hips with your arms and bringing your whole body to each head, but this really Only applies if your toms are on a stand, not so much a harness. In that case you just need to really focus on playing on the closer, inside areas of the head's so you don't have to move your hands as far. Also really making sure that you sub-divide the quarter beats in your head and count "1-&-2-&-3-&-4-&-" as each 8th note's amount of time and you switch which drum you are playing the triplets on. Also I'm not a drummer mainly so I may have messed up on some of the exact terminology but that's the best way I can explain it
@monkmutha8235
@monkmutha8235 5 жыл бұрын
stanfoo try to use as little arm as possible, try to use fingers and a (very) little bit of wrist. Also just let it flow. Usually when you play that fast, it just kinda happens because the drums provide nearly all the bounce you need. But the most important thing is to practice a TON. Sometimes hundreds of times (but not in a row, take frequent breaks) it took me a while to get the solo down

Hey ButterKing -28, thanks for your question. There's a couple ways you can make a video: 1) What I did for this video was go the "File" tab in the top left of the program, and click "Save Online" which saves the score to my online MuseScore.com account. From there you have the option to "Send to KZbin" which will upload a video like this to a KZbin account. 2) The other way to make a video would be to use a software capable of recording your screen (I would recommend OBS) and record the actual software interface as it performs the regular playback. Hope that helped, thanks for watching!

How'd you get drumline sounds in musescore
@HalfHazzard
@HalfHazzard 7 жыл бұрын
Brad Pilcher When you make a new score and go to select instruments, there's a drop down box above the instruments that should say "common instruments" by default. Select "all instruments" then look through the list of drop down boxes, on will say "Marching Percussion" containing only the 4 instruments used in his video.
