This video wants to give an idea of how a homemade tool can be made, please do not ask for projects or measures, I created it with the scraps I had and for my needs, you can do the same adapting it to yours needs. Thanks for your time and if you want to leave a comment I will be happy to read it and answer you.

Let's say a board has a top, bottom, two sides and two ends. If you take another board and fasten it's side to the top of the other board, you increase it's stiffness (or resistance to vibration) exponentially.

There are several ways to solve the problem, for me that added piece was enough. I also thought of a strip at 90° to the top in order to create a "T" shape. Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it.

The little wheel in the jigsaw's guide is carbon steel made. A similar mechanism made of aluminum can last a few weeks or less

That was great 👍 I love watching a good bit of ingenuity, working it out as you go along. But knowing you I'm guessing you had it all planned out before hand. Oh and I spotted a Cat Burglar in your work shop while your back was turned.

This time I went by trial and error, in the sense that I wasn't sure I had a certain answer with aluminum. I tried and it worked. The cute little one with pointy ears always steals objects from me, I have to pay attention especially to the small ones (like the center pin for example), but he is too sweet to punish him. 😅

Thank you, congratulations for the video and above all for the device you created, very practical and seems rather precise. I read that you used waste material and that therefore the measurements depend on that and everyone can adapt them to what they have. I'm about to do it too and I have to ask you one thing though. Is there a reason why you chose to place it at an angle to the rectangular shape of the base? I'm asking because I also have a piece of wood more or less like this and I'm unsure what to do. Thanks if you can explain to me. Hello and congratulations again

I think in the video you had the impression that it is oblique due to the distortion of the lens, everything is square, the shelf, the base and the supports. The jigsaw is centered on the plane and perpendicular to the user. it is a very simple and practical tool where I tried to give a different idea for the cutting adjustment system and for fixing the blade (I see that everyone else always use 2 ball bearings to hold the blade). Thank you very much for your questions and for your appreciation of the video.

Thank you very much for the very quick response. I write from Vicenza. One thing that I find very practical and versatile is the system for fixing the hacksaw to the bench which makes it possible to release it for freehand use very quickly. One thing that I don't understand well compared to other creations that can be seen online is why, at least so it seems to me, it is not possible to move the blade's sliding point in height (raise or lower) in the case of different thicknesses of the wood to be cut. Was it a specific choice? Thanks again and goodnight now. @LTMS
@LTMS

Buona serata👋

Putting screws into the ends of the plywood causes the plies to separate. Try using Bamboo skewers at 22.5 degrees with a miter joint instead (and use glue of course). It is a bit like 'stitching' the joint together.

I made pilot holes slightly smaller than the diameter of the screw to avoid the problem and that usually works. Thank you for the advice, I will definitely try your method in the future, thanks also for your support, much appreciated.
