Can You Beat The Evil Within with ONLY The Crossbow?

Hey guys, hope you enjoy this challenge run! This was actually one of my favorites to do with having to think of strategies on the go. Make sure to get a nice ice-cold drink with this heat wave atm. Anyway, I was originally gonna do AKUMU on this but I thought Nightmare would be best for certain challenges like this, it's too easy to die from my own bolts and so on. I think limiting myself to only the Crossbow is more than fair lol I'm currently working on Evil Within 2 AKUMU 100% No death, so will have that up pretty soon! Other than that, I'd like to improve my Evil Within 1 AKUMU WR and try get sub 2:50 and improve my NG Nightmare time as well! Please do me a solid and like and comment, it helps my channel and reaches more people!

Dude you are really my inspiration. I also played this game alot of times, and ended about 14 times(7 of them are in akumu) but I can't play as fast as you play. My average completion time in akumu difficulty is approximately in 7 hours but you don't even took 3 hours. Now I playing akumu with no keys, no upgrades and reached at chapter 12 only because of your strategies. Keep it up this legacy bro and never end playing evil within 1 game. Good luck ❤❤❤

An interesting challange would be with only the pistol. How far can you go with just the standard handgun? Upgrading it or not for an extra challenge if you'd want; Though I think you'd have to in order to have a fighting chance.

I've done a "freeze bolts only run" in the last couple of days:) I died 6 times. And this is still not so good as I wanted. I hope I can do it with 0 deaths next time. The rules:- No axes or torches - No any other weapon ( only to shoot the statues to get the keys, but nowhere else!) - Matches allowed -Stealth kills allowed -Meele allowed - Bottles allowed to hit the enemies on the head or lure them away.

@@nicklopez8004 Yes, you can beat him with melee attacks. If you upgrade melee damage to 240%, it's not so hard and doesn't take that much time. 80-90 punchies (I don't remember exactly, I didn't play the game for a while).

Love the video! Ever thought about doing a pacifist challenge? There will always be enemies you HAVE to kill to progress but I think it would be fun seeing you try to dodge and hide from enemies you don't directly have to end

I think there's a consistent way to melee hit enemies, every enemy has an animation when you hurt him and it counterattacks, but there's another animation that he just moves back, I did this: I hit the enemy, if it's the second animation then hits him twice, when you hit them twice they always counterattack, so hit them twice, move back a little, he hits the air and then you attack him twice again and so on, if you are fast enough you could even hit them three times

Bassically me in akumu mode Note: do not attempt this, i died alot of times trying and perfecting this method this guy gave Tip for those of you who want to try even with my warning: Use a bottle or handgun to melee, its easier to move after the melee attack in my opinion

Not that hard, if you upgrade damage to the fullest it hits alot. Plus pistol ammo is plentiful even on Akumu, you rarely run out for it. I dont think it would be hard unless you plan on taking out Laura and Sentinel.

Tbh, I kinda wish there were more traps or parts lying around. The amount of parts we get really hampers the viability of the crossbow, which sucks since it's pretty much my favorite weapon (aside from the double barrel shotgun that's part of a DLC I can't afford and probably can't even buy anymore since this game is pretty old by now)

Honestly probably the No Crossbow run was more enjoyable. Because the Crossbow can cheese some parts of the game and doing something else for some parts like the ch4 factory fight is more enjoyable. While with the Crossbow run you can still do some cheese straws but you don't have access to some fun weapons like the sniper or shotgun. And the ammo, oh no. You either save up crafting parts to have decent ammo or tough luck.

Aim at where Jigzaw is aiming and CHARGE your shot before releasing. You can charge bolts by holding the button that you shoot with (if you were playing on controller that would be R2, for example).
