Great video, thank you!! I watched this because I’m ravenously hungry during my luteal phase. I used to try and control it but now I let myself have chocolate and popcorn if that’s what my body is craving 😂 but I wanted to also add that sometimes I get “stuck” in luteal phase for a long time, anyone else get this? This can make my cycle really long like 40-50 days instead of 30…

I need to do something about my cravings or approach to them then lol. When I listen to them I end up eating too much dairy, refined carbs and additives and end up with hot flashes and vomiting. My prostaglandins go way up if I'm not careful. Ibuprofen = my anti inflammatory candy. Whole grain sandwiches, toast with yogurt and blueberries or cherries, root vegetables, fall cooking style diet could be a proper solution I suppose. Feeding those cravings in a nonbingey way is something to keep in mind so you're not paying later.

@JillzGuerin3 жыл бұрын
So I track my cycle naturally using the Kindara app and my temperature but there is also an app called Flo that will predict what phase of your cycle you're in...and if you're pretty regular/consistent then it can be accurate! :)

I can lose 10 lbs in a month and then gain it all back during my period, and then lead up to ovulation. Is there a vitamin or mineral that I can take to control the hormonal hunger? EFAs, Omega 3, MCT don't curb hunger at all. During my follicular phase, the hunger level is still high. In the video she says that we crave fruit and veg- not me! Follicular phase I still crave heavy fat and carb foods like pizza. I there a mineral deficiency? Hoping that someone can answer my question!
@lutelynot Жыл бұрын
im no doctor, but maybe incorporating more complex carbs such as quinoa, whole wheat (or trying out honey wheat) can help. although this isnt the healthiest, i make a grilled ham cheese sandwich with egg but use whole wheat bread for breakfast. i first just cook the egg, omelette style i guess, and fold it, then make the sandwich and put it in there. i also eat berries and bananas, and apples. i have to fill 1/2 my plate with veggies/fruits since i have have prediabetes😭 my dietician also recommended me to eat almonds or other nuts to satisfy my hunger!

Do you have a list of the foods for each phase?

How do I adjust these foods to what is appropriate for the season? For example, although I crave fresher and lighter foods during the follicular and ovulatory phases, when it cold outside I can't bring my self to eat salads lol

By being more observant of themselves and their surroundings, and prioritising nutrition in the body, we are talking about people that with the limited medicine had to survive and so they were forced to pay attention to their bodies and what made them feel good or not

Hi there! Thank you for sharing. Do you think B vitamins should be taken everyday, or just during the luteal phase? Thanks!

Depends on the person! I do take them everyday - if you do take them, try to make sure they’re the “methyl” form

Great video. Very informative information, thank you. I’m a new subscriber. I use the app Flo and find it to be helpful. I do have a question about cycles and wanted to get your thoughts. I notice my monthly cycle changes according to the seasons. About twice a year I switch to getting my period at the new moon when the spring and fall arrive ( vs the full moon, the which is when I have it the rest of the year). Have you heard other women experience this too? Btw I have regularly, monthly cycles and very little PMS symptoms. Thanks again Jillz. ❤️❤️💕
@JillzGuerin3 жыл бұрын
That’s so interesting I haven’t heard about this specifically but women’s bodies and cycles are very sensitive to changes in the seasons so it may just be that!
@CycleCoachAcademy3 жыл бұрын
The moon does impact the cycle. The moon's arc and distance from the earth changes throughout the year. There is an interesting article here - www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/menstrual-cycles-intermittently-sync-with-moon-cycles-study-68429

Thanks for the video. I am curious about PMDD. All of my hormones are fine and balanced according to blood work but the way my brain and body reacts to the hormones seems to be the problem. When I’m hearing that i’m getting symptoms because my hormones aren’t balanced, it’s confusing. Just curious your thoughts

I always feel sooo depressed like a week before my period. Is PMS ALWAYS rooted in imbalanced hormones?
@tvisha75722 жыл бұрын
I have irregular periods so I am on meds right now. From the past few weeks I've noticed that I'm craving more raw foods like fruits and salads etc and really just don't feel like eating cooked food, but according to my medicines I'm supposed to get periods in just next few days which means this should be the luteal phase. So it's really just confusing what my body is doing right now 😂 Is it that my body is NATURALLY on another phase where I'm craving more raw foods but the medicines are kind of suppressing it and gonna make me start having periods in the next few days?
@JillzGuerin2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure when it comes to the medicine. But also keep in mind other things can also make you crave those things - for example, as it gets sunnier and warmer we naturally crave more cooling raw foods 😊

I really liked the video! Very informative and you explained it so well, I finally understand my cycle a lot more. Though I do have a tiny little thing you could maybe change in the future: Since there are not only women who have periods and it would be cool to explain this to everyone instead of just women. My suggestion would be to use neutral terms as simple as "people who have periods". Thanks again for this video, super helpful!

Biologically, only women have periods. Men who transition cannot have periods.
@itsreyrey26733 жыл бұрын
@@oliestrella7695 You're correct. Though there are still people who do not identify as a woman who have periods. Like there are people who transition from female to male, meaning that there are also men who can benefit from this information for their cycle. Or also the non-binary people who can have periods, but not necessarily. Of course, this depends on their sexual organs, which you were referring to. Nonetheless - not only women have periods. :)
