The chorus on this tune and a couple of others on this album, remind me of a Rush vibe from their 90s stuff. That urgency mixed with exhilaration with the higher harmonies. And that key modulation.

Diamond is my favorite song from Surviving right behind Recommit. The first time I listened through Surviving I started crying (happy tears) at Diamond because I was so amazed and grateful of how wonderful the whole album was to that point - and still had the rest of the album to enjoy as well. Love these so much! It's amazing to get a behind the scenes look at how my favorite band makes the music I love!One interesting thing I've noticed is that a lot of the tracks look like the are seriously clipping. Is this something that's done on purpose? I've been learning to produce my own music over the last couple of years, and I was under the impression that having your tracks clip like that would cause the world to end or something. Obviously now seeing that your tracks are that way I know that's not the case, so I'd just love to know if there is actually an advantage to doing that or if it just doesn't matter.
